If you have kids I would caution taking the sky train during the Olympics. I recently informed the sky train upon the request of the announcements to tell them of any suspicious activity.

parking meters now operate till 10pm, up to 6$ per hour. bridge closures and road closures will grid lock the city.. the IOC is the worst thing about the olympics. give it back to the athletes and cities and screw the IOC.. this olympics is the going to cause real problems for vancouver for years to come.. not to mention the recession and lack of enthusiasm about spending money.. buses were brought in from LA and atlanta and not locally. what the hell gives?

-they forgot to mention that 65% of the BC population does not live in Vancouver
-20,000 security police + 5000 Armed Forces
-gas prices jumped 10 cents/litre out here due to a Provincial tax hike
-no money for Ambulance, Doctors, Nurses in the interior of BC
-the recent number is 7 Billion $ & counting.

Canada finally paid off debts from the Montreal Olympics (1976) by 2006. It took 30 freaking yrs to pay off the debt. I'm just reminding ppl of this. Fuck the Olympics. Give ppl tax cuts instead.

I remember the people in Vancouver cheering when Toronto lost out hosting the 2008 summer games. Sometimes you need to be careful what you wish for.
