According to Famous Monsters, Pierce selected a green make-up for karloff so it would appear a pale, bloodless corpse-like white skin to audiences. So if anybody colorizes these oldies the monster should be very pale, not caucasian skin color and not green, because that was the intent of filmmakers.

Colorization got a bad rap because of cheap rush jobs using poor color choices and primitive technology in the '80s. If Mr. Gammill were put in charge of coloring one of these old classics and had a big facility and a knowledgable crew at his disposal I'm sure the results would be very satisfying.

@luvdomus -You're absolutely right. I understand those who say that the movie makers original concept was to light,direct and edit a film that was to be shot in black and white accordingly. The original will always remain the prototype. However, why not a choice- new technologies such as film restoration has done wonders for old, scratched prints. Why not superb colorization. I'd repurchase them! 4 sure!
