believe me, i know about Japan, its common that the audience is quiet, thats how they show respect, but it does not mean that they are not enjoying the performance. for example, if you go to korea, the crow wont shut up, its just culture.
This audience does seem proper because they don't screem like fans from McFly's own country. You can hear the lyrics better and that's what I think is soo good. In other cases their fans are going crazy! Really good video btw.. :)
Japanese people try to show respect in every aspect of their lives...The fact that the audience seems to be so quite is probably because of that!
I prefere that kind of audience who cheers and shouts only *after* the song's ended!I hate stupid fangirls who scream like there's no tomorrow and never let you actually listen to what the guys are saying/singing!
It's a new song, before it was released. Crowds tend to be quieter as they don't know any words. Lots of concerts in Japan are off the hook bat-shit crazy as they are in every country.
the comment was "Japanese people try to show respect in every aspect of their lives." that's beyond stereotypical to describe an entire nation of people like that. A culture where every person is respectful would be alien in comparison to the humanity we know.
@htereble japanese bands might like people to staying quiet but european bands love people scream and sing the songs along them.
this is not like a macintosh conference, this is a concert where everyone should having fun and not stayin sit on ones ass as if your watching the concert on TV. the bands themselves feel that and dont get as active as they would be if the crowd was shoutin. just compare mcfly concerts in tokio wit the mcfly concerts abroad ull see wat a diferent reaction by mcfly
@DorisD2 Oh god...I'm not talking about singing along and cheering the guys, I'm talking about girls shouting "OH MY GOD TOM MARRY MEEEEE" or "DOUGIE YOU"RE SOOOOO HOOOOOOT" or simply "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH"...it's really annoying because you can never hear what they're saying when they talk or really listen to them when they sing! I've never been to a McFly gig but I've been to others and I have cheered and sang along too! I'm not stupid, I don't expect them to sit as if listening to classical music!
@htereble u havent been in all concerts in japan to say that NO japanese girl shouts "marry me" and that stuff, as if everyone there was superrespectul. im pretty there are girls like this in japan so dont label the WHOLE country as respectful in everythin, u would be sayin a lie.anyways, im talkin about the crowd up here and not about u and your concerts. european bands use to like some shoutin an this ppl is soo quiet, no one is singin along or shoutin. is what im tryin to say
@DorisD2 Oh for cryin' out loud...stop being so freaking uptight! I just mentioned in a comment a year ago that I happen to like crouds that actually let you from time to time to listen to the guys and that I believe japanese people are generally less crazy and more respectful than ie european people! I never said that fangirls are stupid or that they don't respect the band palying or that there are no crazy fangirls in Japan. Jesus!
@htereble It's sure that for us it's better for the sound quality. But as a musician, let me tell you that it's never easy to perform in front of an audience. When you are earing people singing and screaming, it help you to give a better performance. But when it's quiet you feel like people don't like your stuff which is not exactly good for a good perfomance!!!
Come to CANADA! If you can go to Japan, then you can come to North America. Don't forget USA. :D to me the audiences seems so ... lifeless and dead until of the song .. o_O
As lalluvia said, its a respect thing and in some interview mcfly did mention it was weird to get used to, but I don't think they minded too much. I assume silence (where silence is good) is better than booing or something like it.
haha i know it seems weird how little noise there is, but i've been to japan and it's definitely a respect thing. they're being polite to show deference and appreciation for the music, it's not because they're bored

You think being respectful is a trait of Aliens??
Yes it is a new song, but what's your excuse for when the fangirls scream when the guys are simply talking on stage?
