The wolf's gape can wrap the wolverine's entire snout! Rine's gape is too small to damage the wolf besides on the legs. It can also scratch, but in most fights to the death, wolf would win.

@landon460 The wolverine's skin tissue is much thicker than the wolves, in the range of 4 - 5 mm and is much looser. Similar to the tissue of the honey badger, this means it's much more resistant to bites and sharp object than most other animals. Quite frankly, I don't believe the wolf's teeth could of caused very much damage as a result, similar to how a Honey Badger can withstand multiple machete blows, can fight off PACKS of hunting dogs and is nearly impervious to arrows. @asianthor I'm not sure of how great THAT film you just mentioned was. It edited out the part where the cougar released it's "full-nelson" hold to run. And here we have 2 films: 1 that ends with a wolverine laying in place on it's side, trembling with convulsions and dying from an edited fight with THIS wolf ... followed by a 2nd grafted-in film of a wolverine running and eating alone in perfect health. Obviously, these " fiction film-MAKERS" have a lot of personal hatred for wolves.

@Gamerfreak4445 It is plain to see that it was the wolf that ended the fight. It took a deep breath and then jerked the wolverine's face left and right to drop it. And then the wolverine lay right there trembling with violent convulsions... unable to get up. The wolf was able to walk away with it's health and strength intact. But not the wolverine. Evidently, something vital to it, such as it's throat, had to have been damaged.

@seereeuss It's a wolf. If it had gained an advantage like that it would of moved in for the kill and ate him, but instead he ran like a bitch. Obviously the wolf came to the realization that it just got it's ass kicked by an animal a third of it's size and decided to go home. The wolverine seemed fine to me. The wolf however, had more than a few holes in it's face.

@PerfectChaosZeta I have carefully studied this contest. And a studied look reveals that the wolf scored the deadlier moments of offense. The wolf scored at the beginning to the wolverine's throat. It scored in the middle to the wolverines tongue - which of course would bleed upon the wolf's bright-colored coat. Then the wolf ended it by jerking the wolverine's face left and right to drop it. The wolverine left laying there trembling in place clearly could not walk away as the wolf could.

@seereeuss Dude, the wolverine totally gets up and walks away at the end. You also fail to recognize the looseness and thickness of the wolverine's skin tissue. The wolf's teeth aren't sharp or long enough to effectively inflict damage.

@PerfectChaosZeta The unedited film began with a wolverine challenging this wolf over it's kill.The film ended with that wolverine laying in place trembling and unable to get up after a fight. The key to a thinking man is that no snow was falling during their fight. And that makes it clear that after the fight film, a second added film was put here for all of the people expected to be not too smart. That second film features an unhurt wolverine digging out a kill that was covered in snow.

@PerfectChaosZeta What are you talking about. The wolf did not "run like a bitch". What video did you watch? The wolf let go of the wolverine after he pinned it and then slowly walked away. The wolf had just a few small cuts on it's face but you could not see the damage to the wolverine do to it's dark fur so how do you even know which one was more injured? You don't.

@landon460 The wolverine's skin tissue is much thicker than the wolves, in the range of 4 - 5 mm and is much looser. Similar to the tissue of the honey badger, this means it's much more resistant to bites and sharp object than most other animals. Quite frankly, I don't believe the wolf's teeth could of caused very much damage as a result, similar to how a Honey Badger can withstand multiple machete blows, can fight off PACKS of hunting dogs and is nearly impervious to arrows. Some North American Indians tribes fear the wolverine calling it the Devil
It is almost impossible to track, moves on the ground, climbs a tree, moves thru the trees using the branches, then back to the ground. Early American trappers used to set out bear traps and would come back to find that the bait meat had been stolen by a wolverine. Nasty little creatures - my favorite :)

@thiniceboy ,sorry partner but that" little ball of fur" as u call it is the top predator in the north, wolves stay far away, bears will move on if they smell one, humans are scared and respectful of this little guy. he can and does kill wolves bears, humans, and pretty much whatever they want. For real they are the baddest little balls of fur in the north. I love wolves and a pack of them will own anything, but even a pack is hesitant and cautious when a wolverine is around.

@64329ful The beginning of the fight, which was cut in this film, was dominated by the wolf. The wolf scored the LIFE-threatening bites. Impressive as a headlock is to many, the wolverine simply held on to the wolf to prevent dying after that. A cheek bite was it's best shot. The wolf ended the fight by jerking the wolverine's face left&right to drop it. And ONLY the wolf could walk away. No snow was falling during the fight. So a 2nd filmed wolverine eating a SNOW-covered carcass was added.

Oh and for the record, this video was shown on a wildreness special fully dedicated to showing how fearless and aggresive a wolverine is, it wasnt a show about wolves fighting wolverines? This particular portion of the film was talking about how a wolverine has amazing smell and will steal food from any animal with great success. IF THE WOLF WON THIS BATTLE, THE WOLVERINE WOULDNT BE ENJOYING THE CARCASS... I REPEAT THIS WAS A WOLVERINE SPECIAL, NOT A WOLF DOCUMENTARY.

And for the record, I have about 45 videos, of 45Lb pitbulls destroying Caucasian Ovcharkas/kangals and the likes. And, in response to the question of my I.Q., I will simply ask YOU: After the wolf powerfully jerked the wolverine's face left and right to drop it, Did YOU see a wolverine ABLE to get up, run and eat... or did you see a wolverine that lay unfooted and trembling with convulsions as the wolf alone walked away under it's own power? Clearly, at that point, a different film began.
