Don't worry, you're use of the word 'bangin' is completely legitimate. I listened to the loop from the beginning to see if my drums needed some life breathed into them- as even after i EQ i feel 'something' is missing, and as soon as i skipped to the end and heard the difference in sound; i had to watch the whole vid. Really professional outcome m8, it didn just make my drum proc. more punchy and hard hitting - it made my drums really fill out the freqs they needed without interfering wit others
You can also humanize your drum patterns by changing the measure of velocity for each kick, snare, hat, perc, etc. This helps to make them more human and less artificial.
@votvdrum you can either drag a clip right from clip view onto the icon towards the top right that changes views and itll transfer, or hit record and play a little of the clip you want
awesome tutorials man!!!!!!for real one of the most comprehensive, series Ive ever seen, almost like having a personal teacher right there in your studio. You should think about becoming an Ableton certified instructor!!!!!
Once again thanks allot, and hope to see more(the wobble tutorial, and prehaps some more tips on splitting frequencies maybe???:)
one thing i will say thou is insted of using the groups volume fader to make the drum loop peak at -10db, use a utility (after all fx, etc) to bring the volume down insted. this will leave your group volume at 0 and allow for finer volume tweaking later during mixdowns. if the groups vol fader is at -30 (for example) even the slightest movement on the fader will be a massive jump in db. :) thats just something that i do anyway
you should really put part x/y on your titles, or a link in your description so finding the next one doesnt have to feel like such a guess..... !!!! :D
Plan's for the weekend coming up.
1.) Sit down and watch all your fucking tutorials
2.) Make a song, and show how much you helped.
Example: Show you a previous song, then show you a recent one.
