me and my cousin sang this at our local "Country Festival" when we were 7. it was sooo much fun! that was like 8 years ago and i'm still addicted to this song!
Ok so I start playing the song and muttering "ok this better be good." Well.. when the song is over... mouth is wide open...*5 secs later* replay replay replay! Love this song! :)
I live in Montana and wear skinny jeans and babydoll tops, ride horses and 4- wheelers, but I still LOVE this music! It doesn't matter where you're from, just enjoy the music!
You know, I wear my heels and sometimes my skirts and shiny jewelry. I love my phone, pop music and my big city. But every day I go home to my work boots, the cows and the stubborn old dog. In the mornings I go fishin and at night I dance with my friends at the club. Who say's you can't be proud of the city and the country both? Be proud of yourself
People who are born in the south are very lucky, I'm from the northwest and don't really like it as much as I would down there, but all my friends and family are here otherwise I'd move...
@eshynneh Sweet Home Alabama right here, Born and raised in Alabama the first 13 years of my life then my family moved me to tennessee, moving back to Alabama as soon as I get the chance.
i feel no shame im proud of where i came from i was born and raised in the boondocks, one thing i know no matter where i go, i keep my heart and soul in the boondocks
love itwell im not city gal most gals hate me some say im not a human or a girl im just not a city gal like others i dont wear dresses not unless someone makes me
i sang this with my pa before my parents got the divorce...i still sing it at bonfires with my best friend (boys) i got no girl friends...all boys XD out here i'm more boy than gal XD i play the guitar and sing....i hunt,fish,ride,mud-bog,pray,take care of cattle...everything a boy or man does :) that may seem weird but here....it's normal
I live in the country but unfortunatly this is not how I live. I used to barrel race though... I miss it so much... Why does it have to be so expensive??? After my horse Misty died I couldnt afford another horse... RIP Misty :'(
@sambartchmusic1 you used the wrong their in your stupid little comment. the "there" that you used refers to someones personal belongings, example being "that's their bike." you should have said something like To all you country girls out there. As well a football game is pretty hick hickish.
@sambartchmusic1 What isn't country about puppies? People in the country don't have dogs? Where I come from, uppity people in the city have the horses, and the poorer kids have dogs because they can't afford the stable.
Im not from the boondocks but i still love this song so much! My version is "i feel no shame im proud of where i vame from i was born and raised in the husker state!"
We had wild honeysuckle growing in our backyard when I was little :) It was SO delicious, but it got cut down and ripped out when my dad decided to build an extension to our garage -.-
really this song is about down home family values and towns like the ones we all grew up .. if u cant trust country folks to trust u who can you trust
if you see a guy on the streets and he's homeless and you laugh its because he has mental problems so he can't get a job. if you see a person that is fat and you laugh its because he has a diease that causes him to be fat. if you see a kid being teased with a y momma joke and hes crying, its because he has no mom.

Even though I was raised in the City, I have a southern Papa, and he raised me right. I am country at heart. Never say that just because you were raised somewhere, your heart can't be different.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Memphis Tennessee, but I am more country at heart than all of the big-truck-drivin, Camo wearin, tobacco spittin, "southern accent", Deer killin "rednecks" here in my town. They may have big loud muddy trucks, but they listen to rap. That just aint country. Maybe it is on the outside, but it sure aint on the inside. My heart and soul are always in the boondocks of North Eastern Arkansas! Its about personal pride, not showing your pride!
@BloodZion727 Mine too!!! So much truth about my life in the lyrics!!!!! It's where I lived about living and where I learned about love!!! It's where I learned about Jesus and knowing where I stand!!! You can take it or leave it but this is where I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:):):)
I can relate to just about EVERYTHING they're saying in this song. I know how to pick honeysuckle, the farm we lived on had a train running right by at midnight, not kidding, I LOVED playing in the mud when it rained, I can remember a specific time when we had only six bucks in the bank but we were happy and had peanut butter and crackers to eat. I can relate to EVERYTHING IN THIS SONG! And my heart and soul is and always will be in the boondocks. :)
i listen to country but i was born in the city :P i wish i was country like my mom T^T

^-^ That hilarious moment when you're out in a pond with your bestfriend and this song runs through your head. Love my small, country town <33
