Well said, people have different interests and many of them cannot find the way to relate to others and that causes them to not give other people a chance to talk to them. Many times we have to see what makes us different and like a part of it so we do not have to be lonely anymore. For people who are conscience that they are lonely like me, there is a way of braking that.

As an American who has lived in 5 different countries, i can tell you that the lonliness is an environmental issue. America is filled with workaholics, angry feminist bitches, paranoid citizens and money chasers. Most Americans fear each other and rarely open up to strangers. Everytime I return from another country I feel lonely and depressed here.

I lived for 20 years in America and I feel exactly the same way. I'm originally from Korea and all my Korean friends that just came from korea are full of life! and are not afraid of trust and being different/interesting. So I'm finally going back! yay.

I do find in today's society lonliness seems to be increasing. You'd think with all these technological advances we'd be a tighter knit world, but I see all these forums and websites of so many people suffering from lonliness. When I go out, I only seem to notice everyone so happy and with all their friends while I'm almost always by myself.

The way I see it, the only way out of loneliness is either you got depressed and feelin' a wee bit suicidal, or be a brilliant person who stands on your own, busy with your own sparks of creativity and intelligence, a lot of the great minds and artists have experienced loneliness, and all those emotions fueled their creativity.

just enjoy the ride, because you might feel lonely, but you are not alone.

I struggle to think of anything worse than loneliness. My problem is a just cant open up. My confidence hangs on a knife edge usually. The smallest thing can knock me back. I guess its just to easy to withdraw into my little cacoon that i live in.

i think pride and ego keep people lonely not many people want to talk honestly about the way they feel and what they want in life for fear of that they will be turned away or ridiculed by people...people are fearful of asking for what they really want because of rejection and how that impacts on how they see themselves

I have a lot of trouble expressing my feelings, which over the last years made it impossible to find anyone I'd love.

Wish men would stop trying to find girlfriends all the time and making women really fearful and stubborn, while women should stop thinking they are so great and that men must do the impossible to be allowed to talk to them.

Try getting divorced in your late 30's . It sucks. In my early 40's now and it still sucks.

I make more $ than I know what to do with since divorce and it still sucks. We get older and set in our ways and feel very alone in the process. It's a catch 22 situation and it always sucks. Freedom vs. feeling alone always sucks no matter what path you choose. It just sucks.

we all feel alone at times and i have felt depressed to by it, but with time and god you can learn to not focus on being lonely so much, although we all have our days they get less painful if you focus your energy on the right kinds of things and be willing to surender the negative thoughts for peaceful beginning!!
