@shanti0889 you make a valid point about there being a lot of scripture in the bible. Like many of your fellow members you are willing to state the scriptures that you believe support the UHOP. However, once those ideals are challenged with scripture you decide to shut down the conversation. Anyone can simply say read something that lacks concrete proof and then follow it up with ask GOD for understanding. Read Matthew 23:9 it speaks clearly.

I would think that the gentlemen offered a tribute to the legacy of Bishop Grace in this video using one of his parsonages as the back drop. People take pictures of the beautiful church buildings all the time just because of the splendid architecture. Does GOD think the bricks of this house are more sacred than the bricks of the rest of the houses on the block?

Let's be real and call it for what it is, i'm not knocking the HOP, I'm just sharing my experience with this Church. Whether you agree or not, my grandfather was an Apostle at this church.
i also rememered going to a service when Daddy was in town and he was throwing oranges, mangos, and various other fruits in Washington, D.C. and i remembered as people would catch the fruit they were suppose to be blessed cuz it came from Daddy's hands. I have never learned anything about Jesus Christ, or His teachings. til this day, i still have family members attending and i guess some people just don't mind being entertained. Lord help us.
I worked with a lady from the UHOP and they too were not taught that Jesus was the Saviour. All they raved about was Daddy this and Daddy that! What in the world? This man took the word and flipped it for worldly gain. Also her daughter was in the parades and they danced to Beyonce. What church allows their people to dance to something that they say is wrong!??
Where in the Bible does it mention Sweet Daddy Grace, Daddy McCollough, or Daddy Madison, when you find it please give chapter and verse. Don't be fooled by band playing, parades. I had a co-worker who goes to the HOP in Norfolk VA and she said they don't teach about Jesus being the savior. Everything out of their mouth is Daddy Grace!!!! You are right we say "oh how I love daddy because he first love me." If you don't understand why we say daddy in the first place then you don't understand what we are talking about then say you don't understand and ask somebody why. They believe he's divine just like Father Divine. They believe during baptism he can turn the pool water into the river waters of the Jordan by faith. This is crazy because there's no special powers in the Jordan River nor in water baptism. It's symbolic. They go to him for healing and he tells them what to do. I know a lot about the UHOP, my daughter's father and his whole family attends and I've been to a few of the services and it is a cult. When Jesus said, "When I go, I'll send you another comforter." I grew up in in COGIC hearing the heirarchy of the church (both Pattersons, F.D. Washington, S.E. Mitchell, etc.) say so. Those old saints seemed to call him (DaGracia) as they discerned him according to scripture.

However, once those ideals are challenged with scripture you decide to shut down the conversation. Some of the House of Prayer members who have commented really need to check the ignorance in their responses. I would think that the gentlemen offered a tribute to the legacy of Bishop Grace in this video using one of his parsonages as the back drop. People take pictures of the beautiful church buildings all the time just because of the splendid architecture. Does GOD think the bricks of this house are more sacred than the bricks of the rest of the houses on the block?

i also rememered going to a service when Daddy was in town and he was throwing oranges, mangos, and various other fruits in Washington, D.C. and i remembered as people would catch the fruit they were suppose to be blessed cuz it came from Daddy's hands. I know a lot about the UHOP, my daughter's father and his whole family attends and I've been to a few of the services and it is a cult. When Jesus said, "When I go, I'll send you another comforter." He didn't mean a man. He meant the Holy Spirit! Man was always here even with Jesus. When Jesus said upon this Rock I'll build my church he didn't mean Peter. he meant himself. Peter acknowledge that Jesus was the true Christ. You don't have too look very far for ignorance search yourself.

First, I have to also say that as a (lifetime) member of the UHOP, I feel totally disrespected by this display being entitled with the HOP founder's name. Secondly, I need to say that we already know the answer to What Would Jesus Do in this situation, right? Turn the other cheek. But I need my HOP sisters and brothers to think of WHAT DADDY WOULD DO. AND what DID he do when people spoke ill of the HOP. What did the pillars of the HOP do when people made fun of us in the 50's and 60's?

Tressaadabo, the point here is this blog is that the video does not give any historical relevance about Daddy Grace or the UHOP as the video title implies. I read each comment carefully and that's the view that was being expressed. Nobody said anything about the house being sacred or about Daddy Grace being immortal...idol worshipping as your comments imply. Borris put himself in the hot seat by entitling the video as he did and failing to make the connection and he was called out on it.

I'm not a member of the UHOP but my family (The Fennell's...Concord/Charlotte NC, and the Fussell's...Philly) have been members of the UHOP for well over 60 years. My uncle Willie Gray Fennell was an Elder and my uncle John Moses Fennell was an Apostle. I send my condolences to the UHOP members on this blog in the recent passing of your Bishop, Bishop S.C. If that were the case, then you should have not mentioned Daddy Grace's name in the video title. You called it Black History-Sweet Daddy Grace, and that's what we were expecting to see; a video with relevant and historical information about Daddy Grace. By you doing a silent dance with no words, no music, no explanations, etc; you left the video up to interpretation and the consensus is that the video is disrespectful.

Ok I am a member of the house of prayer. I am not going be nasty with it like Terrelle did it. But May I ask why did you decide to do this in front of one of my former bishops home. And I all so saw that you said "I am a dancer and I am informing my public about this great man. Censoring me is not the way to go about this. Nothing I say is demeaning or derogatory but my dance brings awareness to the history of your church during black history month. That is something you should appreciate."

To those House of Prayer members who want this video removed: I understand you point, but so far this is the only video at youtube about Seet Daddy Grace, even if it is tangential and "artsy". So, instead of grumbling about "disrespect," why not put up some real videos, filled with history, and truth, from a vantage point of respect? You can do it. Give us something we can watch and learn from. This is a sincere request.

I repeat; my roots are deep within the Grand Ole Church of God in Christ. Most COGIC folks didn't and don't consider Marcelino Manuel DaGracia to have been sincere. I grew up in in COGIC hearing the heirarchy of the church (both Pattersons, F.D. Washington, S.E. Mitchell, etc.) say so. Those old saints seemed to call him (DaGracia) as they discerned him according to scripture.
