  • Viva Grecia!

  • yasoo the no the best in every way well done

  • It is not thr ocean

    It is The Meditorenien sea

  • the film is made to look as a piece of art.you know the best photos are in black and white.the same is with the movies.it gives the impression that everything is old.cretan world is,in fact, very old and nothing seems to be moving.the film lets you create your own image.it is not the end but only the beginning of a story you are invited to create in your mind.i watch the fantastic scene with the dance and i realize the importance of the black and white image.it looks better in black and white

  • @cosminbajescu

  • i was just thinking, how beautiful the ocean would look if it was in color..will be in greece in a week, and my friend told me to watch this movie.i love it, and am really looking forward to see the surroundings in color..you did a great job raystube9..

  • @juitalah Thank you for your kind comment, I'm sure you will love Greece and the Greek people as I do. Even in black and white "Zorba the Greek" is a great film. I have the DVD and decided to have a go at colouring the dance scene which is the memorable ending to the movie. Hope you have a great time in Greece. Ray.

  • Who colorized this? :(

  • @ragemanchoo82 Thanks for being interested in the video. I coloured it in by converting the dance to stills, colouring them in and then converting the stills back to a video. The dialogue was extracted from the original clip and split up into bits which were then syncronised to the new video (as close as possible). The music was then added on top. WBM banned the music because of copyright so I have created a second version on my account with another version of the music which was'nt banned.

  • Quinn was born Antonio Rodolfo Quinn Oaxaca in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, during the Mexican Revolution. His mother, Manuela "Nellie" Oaxaca, was of Aztec ancestry.[1][2] His father, Francisco Quinn, of Irish Mexican ancestry, was born in Mexico. Que viva la hermosa Grecia!!!

  • Thanks for commenting. I hope you liked the video.

Egypt is a place I would like to visit to see the Pyramids and the museum in Cairo.

    Thanks again.

  • you welcome in your 2nd homeland

( egypt ) i said your homeland because you will feel you are at home when you visit egypt en shaa ALLAH

  • Thanks for doing this.

Anthony Quinn had pleaded with Cocoyannis(sp) the director to film this in color but Cocoyannis felt the scenery was so beautiful it would take away from the dialogue, Or so I'd read. But its time to go color has definitely come and you've proved that. One of the best films ever made! In one of the most beautiful settings!

  • Thanks for your comment. I'm pleased you liked it. It was fun to make.

  • Thankyou for your comments. It took me about 6 weeks to create that clip in colour and like you, I would like to see the entire film in colour but I think I chose the most memorable clip.

  • Thank you!

  • Thank you for commenting, it's much appreciated.

  • I was looking for Zorba The Greek in colour and am happy to see this one. Thank you! I wish I could watch whole movie in color.

  • Did you do that? Really good editing, except Zorba's skin, I think.

  • Yes it was made using 929 screen shots from the black and white movie then coloured in. I made Zorba look Greek with an olive looking skin.

    Thank's for your comment.

  • I wish I had your patience... ; )

By the way, I'm Greek too, and my skin colour is completely normal...! : )

  • If i've upset you I'm Sorry but I spent quite some time selecting the colours and finally decided to use that colour. It took me about 6 weeks off and on to create. The most difficult thing was the sound. Trying to match the talking to the lips and eliminating the music which is on the soundtrack of the film. that's why I used the Sirtaki version of the music.

Sorry for the skin colour once again.

  • No problem! I was just joking!! Come on, it's just someone's skin! It's nothing compared to what you did! =)

  • Thanks for that. I love the film it's one of my favourites. Just trying to think of another project.

  • @raystube9 You have done a fantastic job. I never expected to see Zorba come out alive in colour and 3D. Your dedication towards recreating an unforgettable work of art is much appreciated. Shirley Silva
