  • WONDERFUL SONG!!!!!A PART OF IT WAS USED IN THE BLUEJAYS FANTASTIC ALBUM!

  • May I correct you? Part of this song was used in the title track from Justin's solo album "Songwriter" in 1977.....................

  • Every time you think you've heard all the great ones from the Moody Blues, up pops another one you never have heard.

  • @lazy754 What a wonderful thing for your wife to have done! So glad to hear that!

  • His voice is so amazing! I just saw the MBs live a few nights ago and Justin's voice is still as good as when he was young!

  • Justin is so amazing! Most beautiful voice I've ever heard. Love the picture of him as a little boy! Cute as can be.

  • Thank you for posting this.

  • A Heartachingly Longing...

  • @jinchengfan Your idea about Maurice Gibb singing this...that would have been amazing, he would have been a good fit for this song!

  • Man...I wish this could be released....I would Love a Studio quality version....this is good though! :-)

  • Lovely video :) This is such a great song...nice to hear it again :)

    Thanks!

    Annie

  • Justins voice is soooo incredibly soothing. And talk about eye-candy..... yum!

  • @truebluefan36 I agree, Justin Hayward and David Beckham, two Brits that are dam near perfect! David Beckham will also age very well, and he does not smoke...There are quite a few handsome Brits! I am very proud to say:)

  • Where did you get the big picture of Justin with his mouth open looking to the side at about 0:51? It's adorable!!!

  • justin sounds just right i had a copy of this song on cassette ever since half way the eighties and i still adore this song ..justin´s voice is in my heart ..forever more ..he´s the Music in the Story in My Eyes

  • I see he used nearly the same chorus line in The Songwriter Part 1

  • @Charlieboy608 this is Songwriter but acoustic..and much better his voice sounds great

  • so lovely!

  • Where is the eden that you dreamed of?

  • Never heard this one before..Very nice, good posting, Cheers Billy :)

  • You are shot - This is JUSTIN'S AND HIS ALONE , SHAME ON YOU FOR EVEN MENTIONING ANYONE ELSE

  • OK...don't shoot me...but I think this song would have sounded great sung by the Bee Gees...before Maurice died, of course. It sounds GREAT by Justin...what song doesn't?...but I was listening and thinking...and realize now....I should never do that....

  • Justin never finished this song because it was a work in progress that was stolen from him.

Whoever stole Justin's original tape... FUCK YOU.

Thanks to that person he never released or finished this song, let alone gain any profit from it.

  • This song means more to me than one can ever know... i met and fell in love with a young woman about the time i found this song here... now.. it is a haunting reminder to me. An unfinished, unrealized, but beautiful song describing perfectly my unfinished, unrealized, but beautiful love I hold still in my heart... i will always love you Tanya...

  • Parts of this song were incorporated in the "Songwriter I" track. Great submissions Taranberk!!!

  • Thanks Taranberk for posting these pictures, they are lovely!! Much appreciated, and the music well what can I say The Moodies are the best!! Well Done x

  • love it!

  • Just a outstanding classic from Justin's past.

    Very, very rich.

  • well done ...im yet to make my first video ,thanks for sharing, Moody Blues are one of the best bands ever

  • Once again, Taranberk comes thru with another obscure Justin Hayward rarity!!! How about a hand for Taranberk??? Who is with me???

  • Every song (almost) sang by Justin is good.

  • awesome!

  • Thanks for the great pictures of Justin and such a beautiful song. But then again all of his songs are amazing just like him.

  • Justin used the bridge to this song in his song "Songwriter", so I can't see him releasing it. It's beautiful though.

  • Great song!! One of my favourite Justin "rarities!! Thanks for posting this one.

  • If you like rarities and want to discover more gems like this, check out my new bulletin board--click on "more info" about this video, upper right.

  • I agree it NEEDS to be released. Justin if you are reading this we want to hear you and your new stuff. Please try and get it out there somehow someway. This song would make a very lovely addition.

  • He should finish this song and release it on the next Moody album! This song is soooooo great!!!

  • It is a great song, and it's a pity it got stolen and he never re-recorded and released it. Just listen to the richness of his voice! He is a good singer still but I don't know if he could reproduce the same quality today!

  • We will NEVER see another like him. Period. He is the best. You gotta love him.

  • Some of the BEST Justin classic of all time, I just wish he would get the credit for it as has long DUE for his remarkable talent. WE MAY NEVER SEE ANOTHER LIKE HIM.

  • Uh! Gorgeous! C'mon Justin! Rerelease this stuff!

  • How beautiful are his words! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

    He is an amazing man.

You make great vids, I always watch them and really enjoy your work.

  • what a beautiful man.

  • "A part of your life taken from you...", hmmm. Well for Justin that's what this song was (though he retrieved some of it for the Songwriter album). I feel guilty listening to it, as its presence in the public domain is the result of a work of theft.

  • .....Justin....A Symphony....From The Heart....Legendary From The Beginning.....

  • Amazingly, Justin had a very mature sounding voice at an incredibly young age. He sounds the same now at 60 plus !

It's great to hear all these lost recordings...you Brits are Great !~!

  • Justin's voice is a voice from Heaven. This is such a lovely song. Thank you for posting it.

  • Justin doesn't only sing a song to touch our hearts, but he reaches places within us that are beging to be touched.

  • where did you get this record? i thought it was stolen from Justin...

  • I don't have the record...I recorded this from a cassette copy received years ago through trading with people in Higher & Higher's classified ads.

  • You have a lot of rare moody blues stuff. :)

  • Why do you think Justin never re-recorded this song? It's brilliant. His voice tone is just superb throughout - vintage Justin Hayward ! Do you think he ever wondered where the stolen recording ended up ?

  • @Taranberk dont you just miss that , bootleg albums, cassettes ,searcing for a copy of Blue Guitar, and so on. stillsearcing for a good quality recording of the 1981 Voyager tour..man Twilight Time Live ! I know it's out there

  • @Martianfan

it was stolen from the studio. thru years of being passed around (bought, sold, etc) somehow it landed in my wife's hands. she returned it to Justin at his meet & greet signing for "View From The Hill" in Dallas. You should have seen the look on his face. PRICELESS.

  • @lazy754

What a story. Having never met the man, that for me would have been one of life's greatest moments!

  • Justin thank you for ALL your music , your voice , your the inspiration tour on forever with the boys

  • There will NEVER, I mean absolutely NEVER be

another Justin Hayward, That voice and songwriting ability will come along just one

time in the history of all of mankind!

  • they're too good for the american rock and roll hall of fame, they're above and beyond it!

  • Just a great tune. I wish Justin could pull another one out of EDEN like this one.

  • Simply... totally sublime! The lyrics cut through you like a knife through butter. Such pain! I think Justin's voice is at it's peak just here. He is one of those rare singers whose voice could actually send shivers down your spine. Just imagine what a great album 'Songwriter' could have been if he'd included this song as the concept and cornerstone of that album. Unfortunately we'll never know...sigh! And I agree with all the comments below

  • This Song is a UNFINISHED WORK! This song was never recorded except as a demo tape. In the mid 1970's. Justin was working on this song (probably to be included on his first solo album, "Songwriter") but the tape was stolen from him before he was finished. As this was the only copy, he did not complete the work. Some of the words were incorporated into "Songwriter Part I" from that album.

  • I would have stolen his record too ^^

  • Hey joechildrey...why the Moodies are sadly not in the R&R Hall Of Fame (my opinion): They don't fit the biased opinion of the critics as being truly "rock and roll". Hell, they INVENTED symphonic rock", and for that alone they deserve to be inducted!!! These guys are indeed more deserving than some of the other artists that are already in the Hall.

  • Right on the mark lcr1955 thanks for the post

  • I was the very first MB fan, sitting and listening to 'Go Now' on Radio Luxemourg, I was riveted.Despite the changes in personnel they have always been my favourites. I thought I had heard everything by them, but then I stumbled across this rarity. I can't stop playing it. Unbelievable! I am close to tears (and me a retired cop)- simply stunning. A masterpiece. My new all-time favourite song.

  • I still don't get why why, why, the the Moodies ae not in the Hall of Fame. Too much

greatness here, Can anyone explain? I only have my own thoughts on this. Need imput.

  • Good stuff!!! Think I'll start a new playlist, with this song as the first entry! Gotta have a MB list, otherwise my pal will never speak to me again! LOL!

  • Am I the ONLY Moody fan that feel sad when I see our boys looking so young? I cannot watch this w/o choking up.

  • You are not the only one! I get all teary watching and listening to this! It is so moving. No ones music touches my soul like the Moodies.

  • listen berrygirl1964 i Have the gibson ES 335 guitar with Bigsby tremelo simlpy because JUSTIN is my all time hero so ...yeah....We all love these Boys hey to say it with john's song :share our love! say it with love

  • YouTube is AMAZING. I have never heard this song before, though I've heard great things about it from other fans... and now I know why! I sat here with my eyes closed and almost started crying... It grabs you from the start, it's just so beautiful.

  • i had this song on cassette tape ( !) in the earlie eighties and nope dindn't steal it from Justin but it was HOT in the inner circle of Moodies fans from The Netherlands ( Holland)way back before down loading , copiying , computers etcetera....we just wrote LETTERS and waited for a BOOTLEG ALBUM strange times....thak you for this clip

  • I wish I had it - Good Luck finding it -it is

very rare - It may not exist in too many places

  • Eureka! I got it on Limewire!

  • Where can I get this recording? I just love it!

  • I would like to know as well. I must have this. I love it too much. Please share the love!

  • My dear Justin you are never alone with all your adoring fans. Love ya.

  • 1:52 is smokin hot

  • 1:52 is very hot

  • Berr,

    Meeeeeeeeee too!!!!

    :(

  • Berr,

I know I would do alot of things differently if life only had a "rewind" button I could push.

  • Berr,

The WORST loneliness is when you are with someone, yet you are lonely.

  • Berr,

Even if womething were wrong with your ears, this video would be just fine...Ohhhh, those pictures.......*GASP** *THUD**

  • Dear Candle of Life- I'll say hi to justin on Friday

when am in the front row at the concert FOR YOU

  • Thank you lloyd63. That was a very sweet thing to say. Front row? Wow, it sounds like everyone's having a great MB summer...

  • Hi lloyd63, How was the concert??? Where did you see them? Did you say hi to Justin for me?

  • Great , I saw them in Canandaigua , NY David Justin

Hayward says Hey I've seen 'em 16 times now

  • Hi Lloyd, 16 times? That is so great!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the show. I was wondering where in NY that town is, I saw it listed on the summer tour. Was it an outdoor concert? The next time they're in NYC, I definitely want to see them...

  • Rochester

  • Thursday August 9th they are appearing at Radio City

Music Hall in NYC- I saw the there twice in '02 and

    '05

  • Hi Lloyd, Thank you for the information. It was sold out by time I looked into tickets. I have to pay closer attention to their tours. Just got done watching BBC interview with Justin on "Hard Talk" for 2nd time. That is the best interview I've seen to date. Have you seen that one? I have the website address if you'd like it...

  • yes what is it?

  • Candle, and Berr,

Look ar Ray at 2:09. FREEZE FRAME!!! **THUD!!!**

  • If anyone has Justin's first solo album, you will notice the words and some parts of the melody have changed. Listen to "Songwriter"...."where is the evening we've dreamed of...yes we could say were in love...ooh yes"...would need to get the CD out and name the song but any Justin fan would know that it was reworked and renamed to something more positive

  • Checked it out....Songwriter (Part I)...around 1:25 into the song...he really changed it.

  • Hi deeuhl, I don't have Songwriter as yet, but very interesting observation. That's probably exactly what Justin did...

  • If you like the Moodies get all of Justin's solo CDs. They are great and somewhat different, too. Just saw them Sun. 7/22 and of course, the band was great. What love and energy from a group of guys in their 60s. They evidently don't get tired of playing the same songs, but they mixed it up this time, too.

  • Hi deeuhl, Lucky You!!! We are so honored that they still want to perform for us... I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Yes, I plan to get the entire solo library... I know I have missed out on a lot of great music, but I'm making up for lost time now...

  • where is the EDEN that we dreamed of

  • Dear lloyd63, It's in the garden of flowers you walked past yesterday, or the rain you felt on your skin, or perhaps the rainbow you saw through the rain you felt on your skin...Peace

  • I Love you only as much as I can do

  • I guess my hearing is going out on me. Always thought it was evening and you are right, it is EDEN. Makes more poetic sense. Thanks.

  • P.S.- The feelings mutual my friend...

  • Thank you for the kind words (as always) Berr...

  • Berr, It's interesting that you used the word "joshing", which is a word I happen to use myself sometimes, but not a word that you hear that often. I think sometimes you connect with people that you don't really know that well through writing, almost as if you may have known them before, I believe in these things based on experiences I've had...

  • Berr, NO, NO! I love John's singing voice, and I think I forgot to say songwriting also in my other post to you. I wanted you to go to Dr. Livingstone and read my post so I wanted to see if you'd catch on. If I say you're needed in the "Dr.'s" office, That means go to Dr. Livingstone for a message...

  • Berr, You're needed immediately in the "Dr.s" office!

  • You have just heard the most magical singing voice that will ever reach your ears...This is someone letting their soul sing for us, listen and you will hear it too...

  • Beautiful song and pics. Thanks so much for posting it. First time I've heard this one. Wow, this is a day for Moody firsts for me. It really is a beautiful song...Justin does it justice, as usual.

  • lovely song. one of the best vocal recordings of Justin's voice in my opinion.

  • That hauntingly beautiful voice that I have loved for 30 years. Love you Justin!!

  • HALL OF FAME NOW

  • Oh, how I love Justin!!! Great song. Thanks for posting!!!

  • Not only is the song wonderful, but the pictures are awesome...some I've NEVER seen, and I'm a HUGE Justin and Moody's fan!

  • Beautiful song!

Great pictures too. I especially like the one of Justin at 00:49. Is there a bigger version of that picture floating around somewhere on the internet?

  • Great collection - many thanks for sharing

  • A Great classic from Justin, I wish the Great

Taranberk could pull another one out of EDEN like this one. EARLY OUTSTANDING CLASSIC JUSTIN H

  • a part of my life was taken from me recently-my father

died- this song and video is such a comfort

  • This really gets to me - I've seen the Moody Blues live 16 times -I love Justin Hayward

  • so do I love his voice guitars ands lyrics and i.m coming fron HOLLAND bEEN Too London two times 20002 2004 and seem them of cource whenever they wherere in Holland last year up to 3 times alll in Ammsterdam superb

  • This is wonderful thanks for posting

  • Magnificent work done here!!!!Justin Hayward is one of the best songwriter of our times!

  • Just outstanding classic song by Justin. Keep them

    coming like this one.

  • This song is amazing! I can't believe he doesn't like it! It's absolutely a lost gem!

  • I've always liked this version much better than the one on Songwriter

  • I heard that he was never pleased with this song and wanted to burn the tape and start over. I love it anyway.

  • Did this song eventually become Songwriter (part one) from justin's solo album of the same name? It has some of the same lyrics.

  • I've been collecting articles on the Moodies for ages and came across one reference to 'Forever to be alone' as if it was going to become a single...then never heard anything more. I think you're right; he probably changed it to more closely match the sound and theme of the Songwriter album.

  • parts were used in songwriter -"where is the eden that

    we dreamed of etc."

  • What I read on the "webwriter" Moodies site is that Justin's working tape of this song was stolen be for the song was finished.

  • Wonderful job for your first time.

    Encore! Encore!

  • great thanks!

  • Thanks! I've got most of the obscure Moodies/solo music and plan to create more videos, so stay tuned to my page!

  • Keep them coming. They don't write or sing great songs

like this anymore. Thanks for the post.

    EXCELLENT CLASSIC

  • Absolutely great...vintage music, and vintage photos!!

    Thanks!
