Great amp and a really great player doing the demo...I own this head and mainly use the clean side and pedals through it. The clean is super clean but not loud until you crank the gain to 11:00 then it gives a great dirty clean which is perfect for pedals... Great head just turn it on and play, real spring reverb and no burn out tubes to worry about. This one is a no brainer it rocks.
I also played this amp at guitar center i blasted the bitch.......a guy walks up watches me play and listens to the tone. I turn the amp off with the intention of buying it. guy comes back with clerk and says"Yeah i want the whole stack". i was crushed....I just recently got it, I play alot of thrash and GREAT FUCK THIS AMP KILLS. this amp matches with the warhead and kranken. AND ITS A SOLID STATE!!!!!! WTF.the clerk also said that just about everyone at guitar center is impressed with this Amp

krankenstein sucks this sucks even line 6 cowboys from hell sound on the spider 4 is better the this amp but if you want a real dime amp its the warhead but i seems like warhead dont exist on this planet anymore
I think the only reason i'll consider buying this amp is because I don't have the money for a Krankenstein and i can never win a bid on an original Randall RG-100es. I think i might get this because it supposedly sounds like the RG-100es. Also on musiciansfriend [dot] com, they just put up the stack! its $349 a piece (head and cab).

Usually I defend Deans use of Dime's name on the guitars but the amp seems a bit far. Why can't you just buy a Krank or Randell to get his sound that in the end probably sounds better than these anyway

DIME was a unique person, with his own amazing sound, that everyone knows when you hear a Pantera or Damageplan song, you know its dime. Now anyone can get it just by the amp. Thats sad. Really sad.
I can see a lot of people whining about "Just buy a randall..." To get even close to Dime's tone with a vintage randall, you'd need to get the X2, which goes for 600 bucks, an MXR 6 band eq for 100, a PQ-4 which is 150, and the doubler/flanger, I'm not even sure what that goes for. Or you could get this head... which retails for 350. That said, Dean said they were releasing these months ago, and we've heard nothing about it.
I know from personal experience that they arent. I bought one for 900 bucks, hated it, and was only able to get 400 back for it because everyone else knew it sucked too. They are cheap and a disgrace to Dime's name.

Randall should just re-issue those amps. I have to rg80es heads, and they sound amazing. I've never heard a SS amp sound that fat. I love Dime, but I don't try and cop his tone out of mine. I boost the front with an overdrive. It's just a loud, tight, brutal sound. But the od channel by itself is very warm and natural sounding. So, my point is, get this amp and let me keep buying up the originals for dirt cheap and have a better tone than 90% of my peers for 10% of what they spent.

Totally agreed, i always liked the Washburn ML's shape a bit more than a Dean ML anyway, the Washburns was always the slightest bit more skinny. Deans quality control on their products is extremly poor too. Nice way to pay tribute to a legend by producing trash signature guitars in a Korean factory for peanuts.
why the hell would you want dime's tone? Solid state, completely mid-scooped garbage was always his tone. Did have a nice crunch to it as a result though, wish the guy would've done some P5's and shown us something dime really would play, sweeping wasn't his thing for sure.
Listen to like cowboys from hell or Floods. His cleans were arguable but mostly ok, his lead tone was usually way to much treble and dry and his rhythm had a nice crunch to it but was just as dry.

While Dime did this, the term also applies to Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satraini, Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Angelo Balto, Joe Bonamassam, Eddie Van Halen. Randall should just re-issue those amps. I have to rg80es heads, and they sound amazing. I've never heard a SS amp sound that fat. I love Dime, but I don't try and cop his tone out of mine. I boost the front with an overdrive. It's just a loud, tight, brutal sound. But the od channel by itself is very warm and natural sounding. So, my point is, get this amp and let me keep buying up the originals for dirt cheap and have a better tone than 90% of my peers for 10% of what they spent.

Totally agreed, i always liked the Washburn ML's shape a bit more than a Dean ML anyway, the Washburns was always the slightest bit more skinny. Deans quality control on their products is extremly poor too. Nice way to pay tribute to a legend by producing trash signature guitars in a Korean factory for peanuts.

why the hell would you want dime's tone? Solid state, completely mid-scooped garbage was always his tone. Did have a nice crunch to it as a result though, wish the guy would've done some P5's and shown us something dime really would play, sweeping wasn't his thing for sure.

Listen to like cowboys from hell or Floods. His cleans were arguable but mostly ok, his lead tone was usually way to much treble and dry and his rhythm had a nice crunch to it but was just as dry.
