  • BAD MONKEY!!

  • sounds like shit. im sorry. but if your looking for a boost or overdrive, go for the MXR micro amp. this just sounds like it was thrown together by a bunch of computers for something.

  • At max gain it sounds more like a distortion pedal.

  • This is a REALLY great pedal ;D I use it primarily as a Boost, and it has a nice crunch...

For the money, you can't go wrong :)

  • There is just something wrong with the fact that you can hear the overdrive blended with the clean sound! Most of the demos I have seen with this pedal all sound like there is one amp on overdrive and another amp that remains on clean. Somethings not right. Nice sounding pedal when the original signal isn't bleeding through....

  • The guy looks like Marty Shwartz with some pounds more and long hair.

  • is he wearing a strap or is it just sitting on his belly?

  • @xXxiFvkxXx No, he's wearing a strap.

  • @linkinparklyrics1 rhetorical?

  • Level: Max Gain: Max.

    *Leaves vid*

  • @Lanoring

There's nothing wrong with turning an amp/pedal/guitar control all the way up. How do you think Eddie Van Halen got his sound? A Marshall with everything on 10. How do you think Ted Nugent got his sound? Fender amps with the volume dimed.

  • @WoWintosh Actually there is. On an OD pedal, you have the "level" knob for choosing how hard to drive your amp (aka, slightly overdriving your amp.) and a "gain" knob for using the pedals built-in distortion.

You don't use both at once. You either put the gain on 0 and boost the amp with the level knob

    or

You keep the level knob at about 12 o'clock (maybe slightly lower) and turn the pedal's built-in gain up to your liking.

Using both at once just sounds bad, as demonstrated in this video

  • @Lanoring Weight: Max

  • @AnimalHouseVetVideos GOOD ONE BRO, YA GOT ME, HOLY FUCK DON'T THINK I COULD EVER FUCKING RECOVER FROM THAT ONE HOLY SHIT FUCK ANAL CUNT

  • @Lanoring I was referring to the dude in the video but I guess you're apparently a retard, too, so here's another thing you should never recover from while you're busy not recovering from things: AIDS.

  • @AnimalHouseVetVideos I think you're pretty close.

  • beautiful guitar

  • What guitar is that?

  • @badboykane dbz guitars barchetta eminent fr

  • I use this pedal as a cheap replacement for a tube screamer. It works really well.

  • this pedal is not so fuzzy as the other digitech pedals

  • @ersemola yes because this is an overdrive pedal not a distortion pedal

  • @bloodbird6six6 yes right. by the way there are some overdrive wich sound not so good. i use an aria aod-1 and for me is the most soft, around and no fuzz sound. there are some video in internet but they sound fatal because who play with it do not know how to play guitar "bad setting, bad play"

  • @ersemola i heard the ts-9 was pretty good and many bands use it. i have a distortion pedal from digitech and it sounds like shit but i bought it because i didnt know the difference between distortion and overdrive back then haha XD

  • @bloodbird6six6 well, i have ibanez ts-10 japan wich sound really texan blues for me, the only problem is that this pedal cut some bass frequency. very good pedal! many people told me that many digitech pedals sound quite bad, and for me many boss pedals sound quite bad. i thikn that for to have the best distortion, is try to use your amp distortion, maybe a pedal booster could you help.

  • good as boost ?

  • @rrgert4 Oh yes, the best boost pedal in terms of dirty boost, not clean boost. I have tried boss SD-1, Xotic BB Preamp, Ibanez TS808 HW, and others. None of those were as good boost for my drive tone. All just squashed the tone, and made everthing compressed. The Bad Monkey does a GREAT job boosting, without squashing your tone, I believe it is because of the seperate Bass/treble instead of just a tone knob.

  • @knikk77 yeah realised my Boss Ds1 is pretty much all distortion, its hard to get "mellow" sounds on it, but i like the punchiness

  • Hey Rikk Beatty, Im not much of a pedal guy, but my amp (orange 30w) has no optional footswitch and I was looking at possible pedals for a lead tone, and was wondering if i can get a nice Fusion tone (Alan Holdsworthish), or even a more metal tone(early Metallica or Megadeth). If so please respond, thank you

  • @13KeY37 An Electro-Harmonix Big Muff is right up your alley. It can range from jazz and fusion, all the way to AC/DC style distortion. If you want more distortion, check out the EHX Metal Muff and I have one, blows everything out of the water.

  • @SmokescreenAbyss Thank you for the reply my friend, I am curious to as if you play guitar yourself because I was wondering if you were in a band or anything.

  • @13KeY37 Indeed I do play guitar and yes, I am in a band sort of. Me and 2 friends play Technical Death Metal. We've made a few songs (4-5) and were looking for a rhythm guitarist. I play lead guitar and do vocals and my two friends play the bass and the drums. My favorite bands are Megadeth and Necrophagist. We are situated on the Central Coast, Australia and have a number of friends who go to our jams and they all say our songs and covers are really good. We have not recorded anything though.

  • @13KeY37 So why do you ask? Are you in a band?

  • @SmokescreenAbyss More like a duo, We play(ed) semi-tech/death metal kind of stuff, and I discovered that i'm more of a fan of the Fusion Metal stuff. I was wondering because you seem informative about guitar gear. If you have any recordings do you think you can post them?

  • Never get angry on this pedal. Fits like a glove to my punk / grunge style music! :)
