I dw the gensoid (for example) I put the roms in the sd card and when I try to load any rom the screen becomes black, it stays like that for a few seconds and then I am back to the rom selection screen in the emulator... Any ideas why ? my device is not rooted (telling that since I dont relly know if it must be rooted)... THX

it,s technically way too incredible how they accomplished such emulators for the android,cuzz each old gameconsole from the past works different and emulating such old systems on several different systems is just remarkeble cuzz each proccesor works with different languanges/instructions,in/out­s,memory architecture,they,ve their own strength,s and weakeneses,their sound & video chips also differ.

emulators are even able to reverse the procees for things like saving or link up etc,,,

@DemonSoulBlade hey dude, i was exactly the same when i got my xperia play.. you can get any emulator you want on this device, most are in the market place, and you can buy them.. but follow these instructions. go to settings > applications > allow non market app installations, tick that box. then go to 4shared . com on your phone and search for the emulators you want and download them for free. if you need more help just inbox me ill be glad to help

@vinayakmehra91 RAM isn't as much an issue as processor speed when emulating old consoles. I would recommend 800mhz or higher.

@geek5ter You have a few problems trying to play lag free on your phone.

1. The CPU is clocked at 528MHz

2. The phone has a total of 256MB of system RAM

Your best bet is to look into installing a custom ROM and kernel that will allow you to overclock the CPU. Most custom ROMs are rooted as well, giving you the ability to shut down even system applications that you aren't using. This will help you to free some RAM. Otherwise you need a more powerful phone :-P

these touch-digipads don't do anything at ALL for me. in order that i would even consider using these emulators, they'd have to implement controls like some shmups that were released have, where you simulate an analog stick by rolling your thumb in various directions (if it's very sensitive) - or sliding it very slightly. just take a look at "air attack hd". now THAT'S what i call reasonable touch screen controls.

i appreciate yongzh's efforts but personally, i just can't use it like this.

P.S Turning off the sound dramatically increases frame rate and reduces 95% of lag (which you get only on some games, the bigger ones)
