we the British owe a debt of thanks to all the lads who came when called and still come when called in far greater numbers than the population of there small countries warrants . without you all we could never ever have fought and won against such odds . god bless you all . rip lads .
those who came fought and died at Gallipoli served for imperial interest UK used their colonial servers such as Australia ,grand kids of those who fallen for the UK should sue the kingdom and compensated for ,on the other hand Turkish Nation is ready for any attack on the nation 24/7/365.
Gallipoli may well be the beginning of being something for people from land down under but for the resolute Turkish nation just another page of victory against blood thirsty imperials
Take a look a this speech given by Ataturk after the Battle of Gallipoli (Cannakale)...
"...You, the mothers, who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well."
Take a look a this speech given by Ataturk after the Battle of Gallipoli (Cannakale)...
"Heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives! You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours...
ANZAC day has lost its meaning here in Bacchus Marsh, they want to put a roundabout through the Avenue of Honour, 9 to 12 trees dedicated to war veterans will be chainsawed for pulp..sold to the Japs for wrapping paper. One of these magificent elm trees is dedicated to a VC recipeant R.V.Moon. ANAZC day will be a day of mourning in more ways than one. ...will shall remember them..
Seems to me that posting pictures of war machines doing totally cool things is the wrong attitude to take on ANZAC Day given that it's, you know, about remembering dead people and such and making sure this doesn't happen again. Glorifying machines of death probably isn't the best way to go about acheiving that goal.
love this clip...thats why i joined..aussie soldiers are if not the best in the world..each army has different skills and abilities but i think aussie soldiers are more versatile..onya lads!!!
This has been a sad yet happy day for me....very wierd. for one it was my mothers birthday. my grandfather just died hours ago which is a big blow :( (mothers side) and my sister is about to have a baby
Happy Birthday to your Mum Condolances to your family on the passing of your Grand Father and Congratulations to your family of the new addition your sister is about to have
Flame you are right. I apologise for my anger with Mick. Sometimes one forgets that the ANZACs gave service so all can have a voice. So I will discontinue the arguement
What a disgrace. All this cowtowing to Bush crap has nothing to do with the Anzacs, they weren't there for oil, they weren't fighting to protect the piggy greed of American consumerism either. Lest we forget
Bull shit dickhead Auystralian Servicemen Volunteered for WW2 dickhead the 2nd AIF RAAF and RAN were all volunteers Nitwit. You volunteerred to join the ADF you were not forced to do so. And now you complain about having to see service. You wouse. As a Matter of fact I was in the Army but fuck you and your horse you rode. And from WW1 to Vietnam members of my family had been in the Military Army and Air Force. Jesus Christ a flaming bloody whinger. My own Dad Volunteered for 6th Div in1940
How dare you insult the 2nd AIF RAAF and RAN from WW2 with your shit. Oh poor little boy he got all upset because some one put a tribute to the ADF on youtube. And as for education your own ignorance showed through. You didn't know about the Referendum Bills of the Australian Govt and pertaining to WW1 and WW2. Poor little boy you didn't know that the 2nd AIF RAAF and Navy had men volunteered on their own free will. 6th 7th 8th and 9th Divs were all volunteers RAAF and RAN the same
And as for my family Mick. 3 Great Grand Uncles Served in WW1. 1 Uncle KIA Gallipoli 1915. Father and my uncle joined the 2nd AIF Dad to 6th Uncle to 8th. Dad volunteered for Air Crew 1943 joined RAAF as Mid Upper Gunner Lancasters until end of WAR. 3 Brother In Laws 2 RAAF 1 Army. Brother Infantry and me Artilllery , How dare you insult the Australian Defence Forces then and NOW. Every one of us Volunteered to join the Military Mick and not one of us are complaining. Is that enough time for ya
What a fucking joke ... only try to join the Australian Defence Force if you want to be insulted by bureaucrats! The spirit of those blokes at Gallipoli and the Great War has been killed off!
Garbage Mick. If you knew anything every one of our Service Men and Women are volunteers. Just like their forefathers before them. The ANZACs of today joined the Military and as such still keep the Traditions of ANZAC Alive. Soldiers don't choose were they are sent by the duely elected Government of Australia. They didn't during WW1 and they certainly don't today. Keep your Anti Military Rhetoric to your self mate
Hahahahaha! Yeah, they all joined up voluntarily - except when they were conscripted in World War II and Vietnam! And what's this "ANZAC Tradition"? Invading someone's country that we have no argument with and then leaving with our tail between our legs? Oh yes, we're keeping that tradition alive! The ADF is a sheltered workshop for bullies and bureaucrats!
Your ignorance knows no bounds. In 1917 the 2nd Referendum on Conscription was defeated under the Billy Hughes Govt all Australian Troops were Volunteers as they were in World War 2 Korea Malaya and the majority of Aussies Serving in Vientam were Australian Regualr Forces. 1 in 6 were Conscripts who also volunteered for active service in Vietnam Idiot. As for Somalia East Timor Afghanistan Iraq all ADF Personal are Volunteers. And as for you mate you volunteered for shit. You are no use at all
@heatseeker64 Your right! I'm joining up to honour my Grandad who was called up in 1941 in the 2nd/25th For those dicks who don't know anything about our millitary history, they're better off to say nothing. I want to fight for my country, and finish what my grandad started. Let the prick rave on about nothing!

Stifling free speech is the best way to remember the spirit and the actions of those ANZAC's.

Volunteered for shit? I was in Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq! Get some time up dipshit! Australia did have conscription in World War II.
I don't know why you're rabbiting on about the Great War ... I never mentioned it regards conscription.
Oh, and it's not "Personal", it's "Personnel".
Get some time up ... and a basic education!
