  • were it is now in stoughton, it is right in the middle of the golf course/ country club

  • the ad on the video was; "Free toilet paper coupons!" That's kind of ironic, because I definitely would need toilet paper after seeing that.

  • I remember that day i was outside riding my atv when i saw that strom cloud. i live in Evansville Wisconsin

  • mind. blow.

  • That tornado was so close to my house, so scary!

  • i like how theyre advertising stuff when im trying to watch a good video of a tornado

  • this was in Wisconsin yes the state that north

  • @TheMW2informer Stoughton is in Wisconsin? I live in wausau and i diddnt know that that tornado happened.

  • @Vierzbanator Stoughton is about 10 miles south of Madison.

  • This particular video is just a short clip, yet there is something very compelling about it. It is still one of my favorite tornado clips

  • @danielgirard

    Thanks!

  • I just saw this on truTV!

  • @hacker9289

Yeah that was pretty cool when the contacted me.

  • @hacker9289

I live not even a half hour from Stoughton and I remember that tornado.

  • wow that is beutiful footage of a tornado exspacailly the destruction cloud at the bottom

  • i saw that from I-90 in janesville....it made me nervous

  • nice:) tornado

  • that is so f`ing cool!!!

  • In August and September, Wisconsin and Minnesota is tornado alley.

  • @melee409 ok july two i know u gotta luv minnsota wisconsin

  • amazing footage! and doesn't it always figure, that when you have the shot of your life in front of you, you either have low batteries or your memory card is almost full....

  • aaaah good thing i live in Norway hehe, nothing to be scared of here

  • That rotation is amazing!

  • holy Quran thats so dangerous thxx for video

  • I was there when this Happened, it might look like its in-town but, it wassnt it was actaully, outside the town by the golf course, as well if you were by Walmart it looked like it was in town tooo ! :)

  • That looks like a F5.

  • @ekoslosky It was a F-5 1 out of the 3 Tornados that hit us XD :)

  • Wow.. I live RIGHT next to you...

  • I don't know how people live in parts of America that have these storms year after year.

  • We go to Stoughton every summer.. our family has a house on Lake Kegonsa. I'm trying to think of which area of Stoughton this is...is it sort of near Pick'n'Save and Walmart? Maybe I'm wrong...either way...still eerie to watch this! We'd just been there barely a month before this happened.

  • No sirens?!

  • poor homes

  • hey what is this street called.. i think my old babysitter used to live and one of those houses

  • That thing went right across I-90 through fields, crossed Highway N and continued on into Pleasant Springs. I saw the line trees snapped off at the trunk the next day driving down both I-90 and Hwy N

  • FAIL. This is so fake. JK. that was actually very cool and probably scary at the time.

  • fake

  • @gaytacoma stupid pilac, why the hell would this be a fake :/ might want to check the weather reports for that day dumbass instead of posting crap on people's videos. this is a great piece of footage.

  • God, This was this was about 50 yards from my house when a small road ditch changed the path, and the tornado spared us. Same with the later 07' or 08 one in June.

  • @holycrapitstowlie I remember that June 7th one. It took out that tobacco barn on B and part of the wall from the church. (rebuilt from the fire the day before this tornado in the new location)

  • Would've been great if it were just a bit longer. Still worth watching, nonetheless.

  • @Bonemeal2 Yes, ran out of room on my camera. Was taking it with a digital camera and the card couldn't hold a lot of space. Not much else I could do. Oh well.

  • @McD823 But you were there and rolling, and we say "thanks!"

  • Holy shit! Thats scary! Wernt you afraid!?!

  • Wow, that's awesome! You got balls man!

  • sketchy

  • i saw this on the discovery channel

  • It looks so calm in the foreground and chaotic in the backdrop.

  • @SecretService80, are you a artist?

  • LOL, no. I just think its cool that everyone is so calm, if this was in, like, Chicago, people would be screaming and sirens would be going off, etc. Thanks for the complement...

and no I'm not a Secret Service Agent either, just like the agency. :)

  • Haha.. its just the way you described with foreground and backdrop you sound like a artist.. sorry

  • No problem. I take it as a complement. :)

  • nice

  • O M G tornados scare the **** outta meh! O.O' and dig a hole and hide in it!!!!

  • did you see how fast that thing was spinning? What a beast.

  • dang i would be runnin

  • I know another Stoughton in Mass. Nice neighborhood :)

  • Comment removed

  • WOW JUST ALL IM SAYING

    WOW

  • I read a comedy comic in Internet, oh well I will just tell u guys the story.

One day, I was sleeping, the next day I saw my house blown off and my wife was nowhere to be found. LOL Guess what happened?

ANS : There was a tornado but "I" am a really deep sleeper.

  • Whats your favorite color of the storm when you see twisters? Example the clouds are dark teal and the clouds in the background are like mild tan or pearl so to speak. I dislike toradoes at night!

  • yeah tornadoes at night would freak me out!

  • I wonder if there has ever been a response on utube where there was NO bad laguage used? Even a simple video about a tornado had to lead to foul language. So very sad.

  • oh ok were you scared? or like nervous or what

  • It was a little scary at first. Once I realized I was safe I was more worried for the people in the heart of it. There was lots of debris flying around.

  • @McD823 I cant imagine what it must be like standing there watching that. I live in the UK and we just don't see stuff like this but it fascinates me. What does it feel like standing there?

  • @TheFever77 it makes you feel very. very. very small.

  • do the sirens still blare when the tornado touches

  • Yes they do. They had gone off already but then stopped and started up again shortly after the video was shot.

  • ok, i believe you. Why everybody mark my comments bad, i only want to know what the history is behind this video,...

  • This video is so clear, that it look like a fake, but i cannot say for sure.

  • How in fuck's sake could you assume that it's fake and not be certain that's not so? Notice the tree movement caused by the intense winds generated by such a storm as this. Also, this tornado is on record. Look it up. Assess what you say before you say it.

  • I do not said it IS fake. i only said it could be a fake, cause it look so unreally/ clear. I think about what i write.

  • We just had an outbreak of like 8 tornados (none of them strong) between Minnesota and Wisconsin. Most of them were F0's, maybe F1's

  • Oh wow, I know exactly where this is. My family has a lakehouse on Lake Kegonsa and we go there every summer. This tornado hit about a month after we had last been there. My grandma was still there at the time, and was actually in town, somewhere around Page Street I think, when the tornado hit. She took shelter with the neighbors because our house has no basement. It's still so weird to think that this big of a natural disaster happened in our "second summertime home" of Stoughton.

  • was it heading towards u

  • No, i was about a mile south of it and it was heading west to east

  • Are you sure that you were the one that filmed it? I used to live in that neighborhood, except i lived in an apartment on the otherside, and we could see it perfectly! It was amazing!!!

  • omg

  • thats awesome tornado

  • why did you make 'i am the cameraman' for part of the title???

  • Because other people posted it and I have seen it on other websites with others taking credit or telling some wild story that is completely wrong. So I just wanted to be sure.

  • I don't know about you guys but someday when I am rich I am building my own stone house with only a little bit above ground!! :-D

  • Like any country, the most plentiful local material is the best one for building homes. In the U.S., wood is abundant, economical, and easy to work with. And unless you're talking about solid stone (like adobe or concrete), stacked stone or brick is not much better in the strong winds of a tornado. Going underground (like in a basement or cellar) is the best way to survive a tornado.

  • I don't know, guys. I'm more inclined to take the word of someone with the name "PoopsyProductions." Clearly a party who understands the nuance of quality video.

  • Haha! What a joke these people are.

Watch for this video to appear on a show called Moments of Impact.

  • i would be crapping myself. we dont get any tornadoes in the tristate area

  • and...why weren't there any sirens going off?

  • They had gone off already and went off again shortly after the video stops.

  • Very good video, thanks for posting it. Post more if you have them.

  • I used up the small amount of space i had taking this one video. I wish I could have gotten more. It was taken with a digital camera.

  • oooooooooooooo shit its toooo fast

  • Wow. I remember hearing about this-I'm from Madison. I had a friend who lived there-she wasn't hit. So many others weren't as lucky

  • 2brothersvideos: that is an appriate for a tornado date!!! btw nice vid cool view and u got guts

  • DAMN.

  • nice view, u got balls

  • that rotation was unbelievable. very powerful. some people think the fat wedge tornadoes are the most powerful but usually thats the farthest from the truth. this tornado was the perfect size for a ef-5

  • No rotation is that strong. This is a fake video. Go watch a bunch of other tornado videos, or come in oklahoma, and you will know this is a fake. Nice fake video of a tornado you did kinda good.

  • That is a real tornado, I lived by where this tornado hit!

  • lol so do I

  • naw dude, that was real.

  • @poopsyproductions ,,yeah those Oklahoma tornadoes kick more ass !

  • just so you know he isnt the cameraman their is like 40 videos the same just from other people thats why he made it obvious it wasnt him by saying he was the camerman so he would look all manly and shit

  • Did ya ever think I said that because of all the other people that posted my video? Moron...Look up photos, case studies, etc of that tornado from that view and see who gets credit from places like UW-Madison & the National Weather Service. Not to mention who got paid for the times it aired on the Discovery Channel & TruTV. Believe what you want dude but don't come here trying to discredit me when you have no clue what you are talking about.

  • then in 2006 my town, portage had an f-3 tornado. it was freaky because the date was 6-6-06

  • I would be soo scared, that i would pie on me!

  • Wasn't this on Discovery channel??

  • Yes it was on a show called "Tornado Rampage". Look for it on another Discovery Channel show called "Destroyed in Seconds" sometime early 2009.

  • Look at that upward motion into the tornado. That's amazing video, too bad it wasn't longer.

  • Did the Tornado ever reach those houses shown on camera?

  • no, it moved left to right as you view and was probably at its closest point as the video was shot. It was about 1.3 miles from me.

  • that's just smoke and is that in canada??

  • No and No

  • It was a very spooky thing...Scared the hell out of me, but it was so cool at the same time!

  • what was that?

  • a tornado...

  • lol your fucking retarded

  • great vid. the surrounding cloud is realy fast!

  • Good thing it only got up to F3 otherwise there would have been even more damage and more people would have been killed.

  • Very ominous indeed. Sort of uncanny with the peaceful songbirds in the background.

  • Not a good day in Stoughton, I was actually close to this cameraman at Pizza Hut taking this same angle of view. It was blue skies behind us with no breeze, very weird.

  • there is a Stoughton saskatchewan canada that got hit by a tornado

  • lol the birds are chirping away as if nothing bad is happening!

  • ,,,and so is the content camera man !,,if I were him I'd be looking for a place to hide.

  • @CreativeCritisizm Had no time to think! I just aimed and shot and thought about it later.

  • that happend om my birthday

  • interesting you still hear the birds....

  • Yeah, it was very calm by us. We were only about a mile and a half away. Very weird experience.

  • i remember when that hit i used live 60 miles away from that we had dabreh from that tornada in my yard

  • wowo! that was so cool! i saw two forming in florida. they were so cool looking! one of them was at school during parent pick-up and there were like no adults around!

  • Nice! You can see the cloud it formed from rotating too!

I'm supposed to get the bad storms that spawned 11 tornadoes in Minnesota on the 11th tonight.

  • nice footage it semmed to creppy how did you fell when you saw it i would have sooooooooo scared!

  • too bad, it is a good looking town. i hope you did'nt live there during that tornado.

  • Yes, I took the video from my balcony. It is a nice little town. The tornado hit mainly north of town so Stoughton didn't take a direct hit.

  • well that is good

  • nice footage dude

  • Thanks!

  • even though it was short, it was some of the best footage i've ever seen. nice work! was anyone hurt severly?

  • Thanks! My digital camera ran out of room. 1 person was killed (he was in his basement and his chimney collapsed on him) and I think about 15 injuries.

  • that's awful someone died...well it couldve been worse i guess

  • amazing camera work

  • Thanks. I just wish I had more space to take a longer video!

  • Wow, i would be scared if i were u..... UR SO BRAVE TO BE FILMING A TORNADO! anyways, nive video!

  • cool

  • Is that coming toward you, or just passing the neighborhood?

  • I am looking north and it is moving west to east. It's original path would have out it on course to come at me but just north of town it moved on the west to east path.

  • cool! why didn't u record any longer?

  • Ran out of room on my video card.

  • amazing footage, and great rotation!

  • That is awesome footage!i wanna see the other pics!!!

  • I love the Storm Prediction Center as they outline the area at greatest risk for tornadoes and other severe weather events.

  • CAN I BUY YOUR VIDEO

  • WHERE IS THE REST OF THE VIDEO?

  • Wow, this is only a few blocks down from where I live, I think. By the strip mall and Culver's, right?

  • Yes, that is where I live, in that area. The tirnado crossed 51 just north of the bank.

  • thats really cool!!

  • I was wondering about the sirens.

We never heard them, and most of our neighborhood was destroyed.

Hard to beilive it was 2 years ago.

    I remember the day perfectly.

  • I know...2 years. People are still talking about it. I iwll never forget that day!

  • holy shit man!!!

  • where the hell are the sirens?

  • The sirens had gone off earlier due to another cell in the northwest part of the county. Not sure why they didn't continue to go off but I don't think they run them constantly.

  • One thing that really pisses me off though, is here in the UK, we have 70 tornadoes a year, between 5-10 of these usually run into urban areas. Yet the government deems it 'too costly and unnessicarily expensive' to install alarms/ sirens. Does that seem crazy to you?

  • Does seem crazy to me. One thing they talked about here and I wish they would is just ensure every household has a weather radio. We had some nasty storms last summer come through at a time i normally would be sleeping. I won't sleep if I know something is up. Not since seeing this big bastard just over a mile away!

  • Check the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center regularly. That way you won't be caught off guard as they highlight a risk area for severe thunderstorms.

  • To install sirens for the sole purpose of tornadoes is silly if you ask me. We're not like the USA. Our tornadoes are extremely rare. Recent events (Birmingham and London) are even more rare. Unless our climate becomes as tornado-prone as the US, I don't see the point in the long run.

  • I have a weather radio and am glued to the NWS website all day if there is a chance for severe weather. I check the outlooks and hazards every day.

  • I'm usually on the site when there is a moderate risk or higher for svr tstorms. It's a shame I cannot witness them with my own eyes though.

  • I saw my one. I'm good. :)

  • my team cought up to the storm a little late once it entered walworth county... at that time it didnt touch the ground again... classic storm for wi.

  • WHat a crazy day. I didn't have to catch up to it, it found me! That would have been a good day to be a chaser.
