  • DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors, which is Mitsubishi. JDM is Japanese Domestic Market, which is for things made in Japan and exported from Japan to another country. This Talon or Eclipse is from the USDM. There for it is a DSM.

  • Diamond Star Motors is not JUST Mitsubishi. Think about the Chrysler logo ( A star ), and the Mitsu Logo ( Diamonds ). It was a joint effort between the two companies and they were made in IL... I worked for Chrysler so believe me ;).

  • I don't see the confusion here. The vette has nothing on it that comes with the lingenfelter package. The idiots filming this looked at the Z51R suspension package badge like it had anything to do with Lingenfelter.

  • TR230, LTs and some CARTECK heads will do what this vette does and then some.

  • at the time this was filmed it had a Doug Rippie heads and cam package wit ha shot of nitrous. Not sure of the specs. Later it had a built botom end with a magnacharger blower.

  • yeah it was putting down over 600 to the wheels. Can't go wrong with a procharger. Never heard of ASP, I've heard of STS turbo kits for a lot of cars and trucks.

  • APS (airpowersystems) is a tt kit made out of Australia. Unlike the STS kit it is mounted in the front and with dual intercoolers. Check their site out (airpowersystems.c0m)

  • not sure what the convo you and sa1911a1 had but the vette is NOT a lingenfelter vette a z51 is a suspension package... nor is it even a z06... its just a c5 vette (ls1) my guess is a heads and cam set up maybe just a cam only ls1.. anywhere from 400rwh to 460rwh..:)

  • your pretty close. It's a 1999 C5 LS1 6 speed with a stock bottom end and a Doug Rippie Heads and Cam package with a shot of nitrous rolling on Z06 rims. Thats why in the 2nd race when he launched he burned the rear tires off, the nitrous was on a full throttle switch. The Z51R package is nothing more than a performance suspension package. The Car made a lil over 500 at the wheels with out spray.

  • it is a Z51R, I've talked to the man who owns / drives it. A Z51R package is nothing but a performance suspension package, no engine work. Although he does have a Doug Rippie Heads and Cam package in this race, it now sports a built engine with a magnacharger.

    Z51R package is mostly a suspension package, the vette in this video also has a Doug Rippie Heads and Cam package with a shot of nitrous. Now the nitrous is toned down and it has a supercharger.

You, like them seem not to know too much about the different models of Corvette's.  A Base Lingenfelter Corvette would easily beat the

    Z51R Vette in this Video. The DSM in the video is only a low 13 second ride, A stock Vette can manage that fairly easily.

    The Lingenfelter everyone thinks of when u say lingenfelter is the 427 twin turbo with 8.94 sec 1/4. It improved on it's 9 sec time.

    But there are many diferent trims of Lingenfelter Corvettes.

  • um the 1.7 is the time for the lingenfelter twinturbo 427 vette monster that they made. the lingenfelter refered to is talking about the company who built the monster but also offers upgrades from mild to wild (look online) those number are doable with heads and a cam (didnt sound like turbo or s/c) many people are doing it, this car is prolly getting a 4second 0-60 due to traction issues, if it was getting traction high 2s or low 3 are possible.

  • I heard rumors of the 4g63 and AWD coming back sometime in the future for the newer Eclipse because of high demand. And they're planning to have it perform just like the EVO 8 engine.

The guys in the Eclipse thought it was a Lingenfelter so thats what they titled it, but it's not, says right on the side "Z51R", Lingenfelter doesn't offer a "Z51R" package. I've seen the guys website that owns it, says it's a DRM Heads and Cam package Z51R, which now has a Magnuson Supercharger.

  • C'mon guys. 1989-1999. plymouth laser/eagle talon/mitsubishi eclipse and galant vr-4 with the 4g63 engine. DSM was the 11 year partnership between mitsu and dodge. Mitsu made the 4g63, one of the best out of japan. Biggest mistake was made when they stopped making the awd turbo 4g63 in 1999.
