There is a great game between the global superpowers (USA. France. UK. Russia. China.)

to dominate and posses the natural resources of the African continent .

China dominates the Sudanese petroleum

France has influence in east Africa

USA and UK have influence in different parts of Africa

Russia is on it's way to get it's benefit from the African resources

it's not only about resources. USSR had idealistic purposes of spreading socialism, and so it was building infrastructure, schools, hospitals, institutions in the African countries, and then Russia has mainly written off African debt. So this totally differs from western imperialistic and corporate approach.

Africans? Medvedev is only there because of the natural resources of Africa. What a hypocrite trying to act like Russia is morally superior to other countries.

But he does have a point. Russia does not have a brutal history of colonialism like the brits, americans, french or the germans or spaniards.

i would like to ask him if the reestablishing the ties with african countries is done solely on political purposes? or there is a real possibility for profitable russian business in Africa? as far as i know, everything was already grabed by US and other western countries. wasteful relations of USSR with african countries must not be repeated, bad lessons must be learned.

Well thats all very nice but the truth has far more of the daily horrors in places like Zimbabwe, Somalia, S Sudan, much of the West Coast, S Africa.... high crime, military huntas, AIDS, corruption far more deeply ingrained than any ideals of liberty or freedom or even efficiency of production.

China is just there to do business and gives a fk about human rights or poverty or corruption, maybe Russia is same?

China is not just there for big business. There are now lots of families there with small businesses and plantations. One of them is now a chief in Nigeria. China wants political soft power there, not just economic.

You are absolutely right. In general most Americans are dumb especially when it comes to history, economics, foreign policies, media, etc. This includes those who migrate to the US with the illusionary American Dream in mind.

They are even more dumb of the larger picture, that is the imminent and probable collapse of the US, and the inevitable convergence of world systems which Russian scholars both socialist and non socialist alike have suggested.
