If you own one of these dogs, get a lot of insurance and train it from a tiny puppy not to bite. Otherwise you are asking for big trouble. Actually, this goes for some other dogs; pits, rottweilers, GSD's. Any dog that can do damage can cause it's owner to go to jail in some states.

Presas are a mixture of so many combinations until you can't pinpoint one single formulae. Pit Bulls are very different from Black and Tan type terriers but they descend from them. Obviously the two are very different! Page 235 of Gladiator Dogs shows dogs that look like either Great Dane Type or Alanos on the Canary Island of Las Palmas circa 1903. Where's your proof of antiquity?

look the breed up on many websites like European breed club sites , dog breed info sites perhaps try some Spanish websites rather than thinking the rantings of the ridiculed dr carl semencic and his tenacious guard dogs/gladiator dogs! do a bit of research on the breed outside of dr carl semencic ! you never know you might learn something ! lol

there's a book called the history on the Real Bulldog and it says the Presa canario is made up of english Mastif and indigenous but now extinct dogs of the canary islands.page #152

Mr.Longview01 Actually the breed did go extinct, and they used Extreme mastiffs danes, bull dogs and a few other that no body would know to re-create the lines of the Presa Canario.
If you like Irema Curto kennels you most likely would have read his book "Perro de Presa Canario" it tells you what dogs where used to recreate the Presa.

Some times I see people with their rare breed of dogs and it looks like the owner of those dogs they don't got no desipline or training in a way that they can do what ever they want to do. The humans don't THINK like a Pack Leader. They just breed these dogs and later the dogs becomes aggressive towards any thing that goes by. Including the owner.
