  • Story, smooth music, characters, it smells the 80's so well. I miss so much this decade.

  • hey guys, what instrument is that in the title music?

  • In the hostage episode, I did not know that the lovely Amy Yasbeck, widow of the late John Ritter was on as a producer.

  • I think this is one of the last episodes. Wendy's hair is different. Man she was gorgeous. Loved this show. Wish it was on DVD too.

  • The intro music reminds me of when i would watch this when i was younger really good times wish it was on dvd

  • "Yuh, Hi!..... I'm going to have to go right ahead and say that, I might be your father? Mmm,kay? Oh, And I'm gonna need you to come in on Saturday...."

  • Lumbergh, I am your father!

  • nightime streets and slow raw beat reminds me of Moonlighting,Glenn Frey's ''You Belong To The City'',80's Sade slow music and the moon light on top surrounding the dark night and lighted city and streets!!!!

  • Is this show on dvd?

  • In an age when 'Talk Radio' is more popular than ever and everyone wants to and believe they have a right to air their views - I do not understand why Midnight Caller is not being aired.

The social and moral dilemmas that are tackled by the show is nothing new but each show usually prompts me to questions my beliefs.

  • has anyone got a clip of him saying good night america wherever you are????? i really want to find one!

  • @NuttyRockChick where is michael O'brien? he played as rand barber. please upload episode end of innocence. upload video then find him which time was found him.ok

  • The music and just the whole vibe of this show was badass, night time at it's best. Need the DVD, can't believe they haven't released it. "Goodnight America, wherever you are."

  • wow I had completely forgotten about this show.

  • i used to watch this show as an impressionable adolescent/teen in a hick shit-hole in ireland, and i loved it (and "prospects" on channel 4 around the same period). even now it seems so sophisticated and dark. shows like 'dexter' are infantile and boring compared to this.

it is odd why it hasn't even been repeated on any of the cable channels, never mind not coming out on dvd.

  • I used to love this program. Loved the jazz music in it to..

  • I used to watch this show but I remember the first couple of seasons were way better than the last. This is one of those shows that you see mentioned on Youtube and you say Damn I used to watch that every week!

  • @wenger1972 I agree although I used to watch this right after In the Heat of the Night each and every Tues. night. Great television. They don't make television like that anymore.

  • I remember this episode! Where's the full episode?

  • WHY can't we get this program on DVD? It was such a great show, and there's so much junk out and great shows, like this one, get left out.

  • @kezncurt , yep im with you on that one, the music fit's the tone of the show, with the dark city lit with neon light's so well. wot is that saxaphone? . i was 6 in 89. You hear that old cliche about they don't make em like they use to, maybe because some people remember their childhoods as special times, but i find the 80's was special for movies e.g die hard, aliens, predator, ghostbusters ,back to the future etc etc. The dream like imagery, colors and lighting in 80's movies is truly amazing

  • @freeman537 I agree with you there matey. I have fond memories of the 80s, particularly the late 80s when i was 8/9 years old. Loved all the music, tv etc, here in the u.k. at the time.

  • @kezncurt

    Hell yeah! Same here!!!

  • this show was da bomb. I loved the theme song too. I haven't thought about this in years. I love YouTube LOL

  • I have this record I can rip it and hit u off with a link for it

  • WOW. Gary Cole is so young!!!!!

  • He's hot too!!!!

  • i used to love this show and theme tune.

  • I vaguely remember this show. But how about Bill Lumberg?

  • That cigarette has no light at the end and no smoke. It must be pretty late for him not to realize that he's smoking an unlit cig :)

  • this looks crazy

  • How soothing is this music - love this show.

  • When i'm sifting through people's garbage cans on late Wednesday night in this fair city I call San Francisco, I like to think i'm Gary Cole, circa "Midnight Caller". I'm just that cool.

  • Was always late again......

  • Wow i'd forgotten all about this show. This used to be shown in the uk on bbc1 on saturday nights, i used to love it great show!!

  • Sleep tight, dont let the bed bugs bite.... i hi hi hi . . Love SF at night.

  • Goodnight America..

    Where ever you are.

  • sexy music!!!!!loved this show

  • this cool show was always on at about 11pm when i was a kid and i used to sneak my tv on to watch! top music!i can imagine making love to your girlfriend listening to this

  • Loved this show. The whole night/radio/who's out there listening thing really hit home with me.

And the theme was awesome. Too bad the show went away.

How come shows like this end, while 'Shot At Love' marches forward?

    Asked and answered.

  • Good night America....where ever you are!

  • i wish this show was on torrent so i could download them all

  • the theme is cool, i think its a slowed down version of el coco "get it together"

  • the show was cool but the theme was the bomb.

  • Yeh no doubt. Its also on Rick Braun's debut album from 92 i think, i got the track if anyone wants it.

  • Loved this show!

  • It was one of my favorites tv series in the end'of 80's and begining 90's. I used to watch it in Spanish in Mexico. All the actors were very good.

  • Actor Gary Cole is hot!!

  • general i'll second that one feller

  • Had to come back & hear it again. Ric Braun tears it up with that spacious muted trumpet....

  • General if this tune was any better it would be a sin!

  • This show had the greatest theme song ever!

  • OMG what memories the theme music that has jazz/blues all over it. Back when it came on & I couldn't watch it I would tape it. I still have that VHS tape to this day. The epsiodes that is on it is where Jack had to do the show from prison the another one is where the highest bidder won a date with him & finally the last one was the 2 parter where Devon was getting married & giving birth to her baby boy. Goodnight America wherever you are.

  • i love the soundtrack

  • Yeh, I remember this series very well! The greatest outro line to date - "Goodnight America, wherever you are"

  • I loved this show and have been searching for the DVD pack and have had no luck. I loved this show it was great.

  • I LOVED this show growing up. Thanks so much for posting the clips! I usually don't buy DVDs of t v shows but this is one I would buy, I wish they'd put it out. The music, the ambiance... great stuff.

This was an awesome show that my wife (then girlfriend) and I watched (in our respective places) on a regular basis. I also did a version of the theme music on my Roland Synth.
