(Duwr is used in Isaiah 22:18 so the author would've used it if he'd meant "sphere" or "ball." The word “chuwg” suggests a flat disc. The Bible is not scientific at all here.

These are not "perfect dimensions" ("perfect dimensions" for a boat vary from purpose to purpose) and the Noah's Ark story is an obvious fairytale.

I am an agnostic. I have read the Bible and there is a lot of crap in it. But there is some good in it. Some great poetry and narrative can be found, so it has artistic value. As for religious stuff, the only thing I read that should be used by a believer is the 8 beatitudes, its the only real constructive speech I can remember. If the author meant to imply that “circle of the earth” indicated that the earth was a sphere, it would have made more sense to use the Hebrew word for “ball,” which is duwr. (Duwr is used in Isaiah 22:18 so the author would've used it if he'd meant "sphere" or "ball." The word “chuwg” suggests a flat disc. The Bible is not scientific at all here.

I am an agnostic. I have read the Bible and there is a lot of crap in it. But there is some good in it. Some great poetry and narrative can be found, so it has artistic value. As for religious stuff, the only thing I read that should be used by a believer is the 8 beatitudes, its the only real constructive speech I can remember. If Christians kept it and burned the rest Christianity would be way better.

I got no problem with people challenging the Bible and God, they've been trying to be gods themselves for centuries (Tower of Babel). Err, actually, no- any scientists will tell you that they don't yet know what happened before the big bang, due to technological boundaries, there might be multiple universes, or our universe could be part of something MUCH bigger, we don't know yet, and neither do you, claiming "god did it" means nothing, the bronze age worshipped "rain gods" etc to explain the unexplained.
