HE MAKES ME SICK I TOOKUP DRUM LESSONS OH 40 YEARS AGO AND PLAYED UP UNTILL 1990 BUT DROPPED OUT OF LESSONS AFTER 3 MONTHES JUST COULD NOT LEARN SO TAUGHT MYSELF AND NEVER GOT ANY GOOD LIKE HIM BUT WISHED I DIDN,T HAVE ADD BUT LIKE I SAID I DID PLAY ALL THE TIME FROM 1967 TILL 1990 THEN PACKED THEM UP STILL HAVE THE PEARL DRUMS

It's a shame modern Marching snare drums don't sound like snare drums at all! And they only work in a drumline, not individually. Good playing though. Congrats!

You can see by the way he moves to the edge of the drum and his stick heights that he's playing a lot of dynamics. Unfortunately the musicality is getting washed out by a less-than-optimal audio recording.

This kid has sick chops!!! I liked this solo a whole lot better than the 1st place winner. I guess it's true that often people listen with their eyes. More visuals and this one would be the winner. Nice!!!

Funny with traditions on snaredrum... i really like the american way of doing tricks and rudiments, but theres never any musicality! no dynamics! ........ combine the european way and the american and you will be the best!

seconds half of the solo was SOOO rhythmically accurate. Especially in all of those double and triple stroke passages as well as the flam and cheese passages. Props to you John Ling
