that's similar to my budget gaming rig, i got 4gb dual channel ddr2-800, a gtx 260, an athlon ii x4 640 overclocked to 3.4ghz, and vista ultimate 64 bit lol. I love it, cost me less that $450 in parts (all new, sourced over the past 8 months) and maxes out call of duty at 1920 x 1080 :D
I just installed a logisys sound cathode. Now i'm thinking what would be cool would be to add another color with a second mic/box, and set the sensitivity different than the first one--it would be an even cooler light show.
i would piss off a huge black guy, have him come into my room and make him yell @ me. then his deep voice would active the lights, and he would be happy...
Cool!!, i just ordered all the parts for my first build, included was a white sound activated cathode, cant wait...btw do the cathodes have like a mic, or does it plug into a speaker output or something?
it has a little sound box that detects the bass in the song. And there is a knob that you install, to set the sensitivity of the detection of the bass
@xpLict134 so theres actually a wire that conects to the computer (other than the power cable), or its just a sensor that detects the bass from any noise?
well there is a wire that connects to the power supply for power.. lol
then it has another connecting to a bass detector box thing.
then there is a cable that connects some metal plate to the box itself. The metal plate has the knob thing on it that adjusts the sensitivity of the detection
WOW!! That looks fucking kick-ass!! I was like a darn I should have ordered these, I go and check and It appears I ordered 3 by accident =] a good accident :) w00t cant wait for mine to arrive.
I am building my own pc within this month and I can't find anywhere in the UK that sells these sound activated ones? Where can I buy them that either sell in the UK or ship to the UK?
Lol im too lazy =P sorry. BUT when you purchase them, it will come with a full on guide to install them. Its really simple. if not, you could always google.
There should be a wire that connects the powersupply to a molex connector. Molex is the one that looks rectangular and has 4 holes in it. Your case fans should be connected into em. So you plug the lights into that molex too. Thats all
i need to upgrade bkus i got my rig last year so im pretty much behind!! but good rig u have there man!!
i havent posted a video of my rig because i haven't found the right song for it..lol but i wil soon and btw the pc there is my very old pc..lol i just tried my cold cathode for fun to see how it looked..lol
lol thanks. But my motherboard OR harddrive just blew out.. dunno which one yet.. trying to figure that out.. so i gotta get it replaced.. if soo.. upgrade time :O
