If i grow up looking at cannonball play. I'm going to say i want to be just like him, i would say i want to be better then him. Remember some thing to all of you. I play to be better and iam better its funny to where i can play what these guys play right back to then just hearing what they play that is how bad what they play is. The funny thing about music is that most people say something about music and they canrt even play but have sokmething to say that is funny to me.
Man, Music is about playing what you feel and what you are. But once you're in this world, a lot of people (some would play music, some won't, some will be great musicians, some will suck ) are going to try to tear you down. Plus, I'll NEVER say that I can play what guys like Mike play. And even if I could, I'd not act like:" I'm the best". Even Trane never said he was the best (same thing with guys like Brecker, Kenny Garrett, or EVEN Miles !!!).Try to be respectful and let's keep on working ;)
