@sdeevooo there are prior attempts at pyramid building dotted all over egypt. as far as we know the egyptians were the first to built pyramids, however the earlier cultures built ziggurats which are very similar. the idea was that god would sit at the top of the ziggurat and dole out orders etc to the city, when th egod wasnt there in person the priesthood interpreted the gods will. as time went on priests decided that a figurehead would stand in for god as a priest king whom they controlled etc
