Mormonism isnt different than any other religion. Religions all believe that they have the "true" word which means that every other religion, besides their own, is wrong. It is this teaching that "I am right and you are wrong" that makes people distrust any theology because there is no evidence that Mormonism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddism or people of Muslim faith are believable. Many Mormon missionaries do not even want to be missionaries. The culture of the LDS Church manipulates them into serving a mission. Their families and friends are told to pressure them into it. Women are told to only marry men who have served missions. By not serving a mission a young Mormon man becomes like a black sheep in their congregation. Many Mormons know that Mormonism is false yet they cannot leave the LDS Church because of their spouse, social pressure, parents, jobs, friends, etc
James you did a good thing. You probably do not realize that Mormon Missionaries cannot just go home as you expected them to do. They would be shamed by their family and congregations. Their companions in the Mission field would quickly persuade them not to do so and even if they did it would cause great embarrassment. Doing that would get them labeled as apostates and sinners. You cannot expect people to change their minds over night. They have a strict regiment that cannot be broken.
It is not surprising that the missionaries had not heard such things before. Mormonism depends a great deal on censorship. Nearly all the Mormon YouTube accounts will erase comments that criticize their beliefs and ban people who criticize their beliefs. They cannot respond to their critics so they just censor them. If you are well grounded in your Christian faith, then you should talk to them because you can teach them in your discussion and bring the Gospel of Christ to their attention.

I used to be a Mormon(for 16 years), and it is incredibly difficult to leave once you are in. They NEED you to be indoctrinated, they NEED your membership and even if you just 'leave', you are forever on their lists unless you specifically ask to be removed, which means they can say they have more members than they necessarily have.

I love the British!! I had a similar conversation with a Jehovah Witness. It took me a good 20 minutes before she would admit that the Christianity of the Bible was not what the Jehovah Witnesses believed in. Once we got our differences voiced, I said what I believed...she said what she believed. And she still tried to offer me all the pamplets which i had to firmly deny, then say good bye as I closed the door. All you can do is try to get them to use independant thought...

I'm not a big fan of any religion that says they can say it better then Bible can. The Bible can be understood many different ways and I dont think it my place to judge those ways. However I believe that when Jesus died on the cross he gaves us the gift of eternal life and the Bible so we can grow in that life. We should be careful of false prophets who say differently.

When I was investigating the LDS church 30 years ago, I read all these crazy things that I KNEW were not true. If I believed half the things I've seen and heard on the Internet about Mormons, I'd think they were nuts! But I took the time to learn the truth. I studied, pondered and prayed, talked to missionaries, and have been a member for 30 years. I wish more people would take the time to learn the truth.

Our faith comes from living the gospel, keeping the commandments, and serving Him who is Almighty in our eyes. Our focus is simply on Christ. The happiness the gospel brings us is ultimately the testimony we carry within us wherever we go, and so of course we're eager to share w/those ready to hear.

America's standard of education is moving towards the middle, just as its religious content is in the middle.

Christian America eagerly participated in the genocide of native peoples, and the more religious South found biblical support for slavery, which it used against the less religious North. I am very thankful for the teachings of the church and teachings of Jesus Christ and his gospel. My life would have little or no meaning without him. It has also given me a perspective to love all others unconditionally, even those who do not believe in following Jesus Christ or do not believe in God at all. However, personally I believe that doesn't mean He doesn't believe in them and all of his children. May we all learn to be happy and grateful for what we do have versus what we don't.

Many Mormon missionaries do not even want to be missionaries. The culture of the LDS Church manipulates them into serving a mission. Their families and friends are told to pressure them into it. Women are told to only marry men who have served missions. By not serving a mission a young Mormon man becomes like a black sheep in their congregation. Many Mormons know that Mormonism is false yet they cannot leave the LDS Church because of their spouse, social pressure, parents, jobs, friends, etc

James you did a good thing. You probably do not realize that Mormon Missionaries cannot just go home as you expected them to do. They would be shamed by their family and congregations. Their companions in the Mission field would quickly persuade them not to do so and even if they did it would cause great embarrassment. Doing that would get them labeled as apostates and sinners. You cannot expect people to change their minds over night. They have a strict regiment that cannot be broken.

It is not surprising that the missionaries had not heard such things before. Mormonism depends a great deal on censorship. Nearly all the Mormon YouTube accounts will erase comments that criticize their beliefs and ban people who criticize their beliefs. They cannot respond to their critics so they just censor them. If you are well grounded in your Christian faith, then you should talk to them because you can teach them in your discussion and bring the Gospel of Christ to their attention.

I love how at 1:10 the message came up "Leviticus 18:17; 20:14" after they talked accused Joseph Smith of sleeping with underage girls (which I would also be interested into seeing how many catholics practiced this same act in the 1830s O.o) like if I flip to Leviticus 18:17 it's going to say "Joseph Smith slept with young girls". I used to be a Mormon(for 16 years), and it is incredibly difficult to leave once you are in. They NEED you to be indoctrinated, they NEED your membership and even if you just 'leave', you are forever on their lists unless you specifically ask to be removed, which means they can say they have more members than they necessarily have.
My family was quite prominent in the church and there were some really disturbing things going on in the upper ranks, too much to say here!

I love the British!! I had a similar conversation with a Jehovah Witness. It took me a good 20 minutes before she would admit that the Christianity of the Bible was not what the Jehovah Witnesses believed in. Once we got our differences voiced, I said what I believed...she said what she believed. And she still tried to offer me all the pamplets which i had to firmly deny, then say good bye as I closed the door. All you can do is try to get them to use independant thought...

I'm not a big fan of any religion that says they can say it better then Bible can. The Bible can be understood many different ways and I dont think it my place to judge those ways. However I believe that when Jesus died on the cross he gaves us the gift of eternal life and the Bible so we can grow in that life. We should be careful of false prophets who say differently.

I'm a convert to the LDS Church. Do you realize that I already have heard all these things you say against the Church a million times? When I was investigating the LDS church 30 years ago, I read all these crazy things that I KNEW were not true. And these days, if you spend 30 minutes on the Internet you'll read all kinds of things against the Church, too. It only strengthens my testimony as to the truthfulness of the Church.

The most noticeable aspect about talking to Mormons about their own history is the degree of self-delusion and outright lying. "JS was not a polygamist" "JS did not tell different stories." "We don't teach that men become gods", etc
When BOM errors are pointed out (DNA, no evidence, etc) or it's noted that Mormon theology changes through instant revelation, the response is, "No, you're wrong." Their response is exactly what one would expect of someone who's been brainwashed.

@BereanBeacon1 well, as far as Sunday School goes, the answer would be "God is the father of Jesus Christ," though I would have to imagine Joseph did a pretty good job raising him and treated him as a son. Though very few details are known aside from the time Jesus was at the temple as a youth "about his Father's work" and to the time he started his ministery around his 30th birthday. Which since he was a Rabbi, and it was standard practice of the time for Rabbis to begin their teachings at 30

I'm a convert to the LDS church and I know there is alot of misinformation out there and things taken out of context. If I believed half the things I've seen and heard on the Internet about Mormons, I'd think they were nuts! But I took the time to learn the truth. I studied, pondered and prayed, talked to missionaries, and have been a member for 30 years. I wish more people would take the time to learn the truth.

Have a look at the Mormon missionary lessons. Every lesson is centred on Christ. and you call it poison? Do not judge that which is Good to be Evil.

And Mormonism is not a cult, by definition, if Mormonism is a cult, so is your belief.
The word "cult" in the english language refers to any religious organisation that has different beliefs to the original religion, therefore every christian religion that exists today is a cult. Hence the reformation

With all due respect...The only reasons that the missionaries who stood on your front porch didn't take in anything that you were saying, is simply because our faith does not dwell on "information". Our faith comes from living the gospel, keeping the commandments, and serving Him who is Almighty in our eyes. Our focus is simply on Christ. The happiness the gospel brings us is ultimately the testimony we carry within us wherever we go, and so of course we're eager to share w/those ready to hear.

A God who refuses to make it's self known or to intervene in disaster is not worth my worship nor my fear. I live a much more moral life as an non-theist not waiting for the destruction of 'the wicked' nor trying to gain rewards in the afterlife. I am much more happy and at peace, and my life is void of fear. Religion has had a good run, but looking forward to Science taking it from here

It always feels safe to hear and to know that no matter what part of the world a Christian resides, their comments and testimonies are always consistent. I mean, I live in the US and grew up in the Christian church (Church of God is my demonination), and I can listen to these to guys in the video saying EXACTLY what all Chrisitans and Church of God schools and churches say in any state where I have spent my life thus far...the truth is the same from the East to the West! It's no cult!

I understand that correlation does not equal causation, but the undeniable fact is that the least religious countires today are the most peaceful and educated while the most religious are the least peaceful and educated. Non-religious countries, such as Sweden, Japan, and Holland easily outperform the most religious countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the Philippines. America's standard of education is moving towards the middle, just as its religious content is in the middle.

Have you not seen the decline of education in America due to godless policies. I have a test given to high school students in the mid 1800s and few adults could pass it today. @BereanBeacon1 Bible Christianity (not sure what the 'bible' qualifier means here) has not always produced peace and education. Christian America eagerly participated in the genocide of native peoples, and the more religious South found biblical support for slavery, which it used against the less religious North. If lack of belief causes a decline in education, then you still need to address why societies much less religious than Americas nevertheless have a better standard of education.

Jesus Christ said the broad way to destruction has many on it and few with find the narrow way. The broad way is filled with religious vehicles, each with it's own label, so you merely got off the LDS vehicle and are now riding the atheist one, still headed to destruction. We tell people about the FREE GIFT of God by faith in Jesus Christ, who is the narrow way.

I am very thankful for the teachings of the church and teachings of Jesus Christ and his gospel. My life would have little or no meaning without him. It has also given me a perspective to love all others unconditionally, even those who do not believe in following Jesus Christ or do not believe in God at all. However, personally I believe that doesn't mean He doesn't believe in them and all of his children. May we all learn to be happy and grateful for what we do have versus what we don't.

@AshtonPhoto "firm research" by another minister who feels threatened by the doctrine of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and the fact that if its claims are true then he would have to change the very way he views his own religion just as other ministers have attacked the church from its restoration in 1830. Same old tactics, same attacks, nothing original. The fact is that God speaks to prophets and either he spoke to Joseph Smith or he didn't. It is the fastest growing church God bless.

Your interpretation of 2 John 1:9-11 is misconstrued... read verse 7 first to find out what He is revering to... I am sure the Mormon Missionaries preached that Christ had appeared in the flesh and therefore you had turned away from those who teach of Christ. And you are proud of that? That is true, He was born of a virgin not on December 25th. That's when we celebrate the birth of Christ. He did perform mriacles and died on the cross for us, he was dead for 3 days and He rose again. And I encourage you to believe and hold true to these truths. Mormonism believes Jesus and Satan are brothers that is not the Jesus of Scripture. This is why I say that Mormon Jesus is different than the Real Bibical Jesus. Praying for you.

Thank you so much for this video, It has been a huge blessing to me. My friend is dealing with a mormon right now and it is like hitting her head against a wall, thankfully there is hope. What people need to know is that Mormonism was created by the secret society of Masonry. When someone gets to the higher levels of masonry they clearly worship Satan.
