  • I Walk My Dog 5 Times A Day Every 2 Hours , She Still Shits And Pisses Anywere And Everywere ! . Mind You I Feed Her Twice A Day . Then In The Morning I Go Downstairs To Find Pee , Shit , Diaria Everywere On My Floor ! :( . Like She's Has Been Trained For About A Year . But I Dont Understand The problem . She's Making My House Smell Awful . And The Pee And Stuff Gets Down In The Tiles ! . She Has To Goo ! . She's Very Discusting ! I Am Soo Embarrased To Have Friends Over !!

  • @SuperShawnbell: If your house smell like bathroom to the dog then that is what the dog will do, she will return to the spots where she has peed and pooped and do it all over again. What you have to do to make this behaviour stop is to neutralize the smells because once the dog has left a odor there she will come back again and again and pee and poop. There are sprays that you can buy in any petshop that you use to neutralize the smells and there is also recipes online that you can use.

  • WTF ??

    Thanks for the help......

    NOT

  • how do u join expervillage???

  • igot a 14 day old german shepard and he is moaning and barking because of his crate size but the one u got is to small for your dog why wirte puppys when really your ugly dog is a dog

also u cant see its eyes and that iritates me alot .

  • I thought the dog was a toy at first

  • Are you serious? That crate is way too small for that dog. It's supposed to be a playpen, not a suitcase. You are cruel. Period. Don't call yourself an expert.

  • PETA does not oppose keeping a dog in small area if it is in the dog's best interests (e.g., when cage rest is ordered by a veterinarian or when confinement will keep the dog safe during travel). When this is the case, guardians should always take steps to ensure that dogs are provided with bedding and the opportunity to relieve themselves and that they are given access to water, fresh air, food, and other basic requirements.

  • That.... is a dog. A crate (cage) that size is like a play pen to a puppy. First time you put a puppy inside and shut the door they will cry and howl all night...

  • @1983Dave1983 I have the same trouble too.

  • what if they bark cause their scared

  • is that a puppy??

  • can you please help me, I have a 2month old shih tzu & Im ordering him a crate but I dont know what size. Can I get a big one like 48" so i wont have to keep buying new ones...I want him to have enough room

  • i know this is a month later but.... a good way to pick your crate size is think of how big that puppy will be in 6 months. yes you might have to buy 1 or 2 crates but better than new carpet.

  • I was told you should have it in a quiet area so the puppy can sleep and relax so im not so sure what i should do with my puppy

  • thats a huge puppy.. more like a dog now

  • i thought it was part of the rug before she even made the dog move

  • do you have lawn or a garden?

  • i buying a brand new lake house with a yarde

  • ok then every time your puppy wakes up from sleep, is done eating, or has just played a lot, you should quickly rush your puppy out to the yard and place him/her on the spot you want it to eliminate. do this immediately as for puppies can't hold there bladder very long.

  • train him not to.

  • what????

  • My pup hates her crates. I've put bedding, toys, and treats in there for her but she whines the whole time. I can stand her whining...its just I feel bad for her. What can I do?

  • WHAT IS YOUR CRATE LIKE?

  • It's a wire crate. It took a while but she's ok now as long as she doesn't think she's missing something happening in the house. I guess it was a mixture of her getting used to it, the treats I frequently dropped in the crate for her, and the teddy bear we gave her to hug while laying down. :)

  • by any chance if your pup starts to ill behave, then you should change the crate immediately to a small, dark and cozy dog house because dogs and pups both don't like being seen while resting and the dog house acts like a den which gives them some privacy. be sure to make the dog house well cushioned too and the temperature of the house should be cool. I have a lab pup and put it in a crate and it didn't like it so I put it in a dog house and today he's extremely happy and playful.

  • Thanks. I'm a full time college student so buying a brand new dog house isn't an option at the moment. I'm not a big light person so it's usually pretty dark in the room. Interestingly when she starts whining in her crate she only stops if I'm looking at her so I'm not sure how effective keeping her in a covered location would be. Thanks so much for your comments I definitely appreciate them.

  • your welcome

  • hey im hopeing you can help me,im buying a yellow lab puppy soon and i have a new house with new carpet and how do i make shere that it wont pee on the rug

  • what if she starts to wine??

  • she looks really tight in there!

  • cnt even see dah face

  • we just cheack out the dog see how big it is when fully grown and buy 1 that is the right size for his/hers whole life :)

  • Buy a crate big enough for the puppy to turn around in now. Then continually replace it as the dog grows. If you go ahead and buy a crate that's as big as the dog WILL be when its fully grown, you're going to give the puppy the opportunity to pee and poop in it because there's room! Also, it will be easier then to train for outside pooping and peeing.

  • okay well i have a 4 month old puppy and im trying to train him for this but he is getting really anoying he whines and whines till i let him out

  • that's the tough part, really. you're supposed to increase time intervals gradually. if the pup whines, wait for him/her to be quiet before letting him/her out of the crate. the process can take from a week to a month.

  • Yes. The biggest part of all the training is patience. If you're patient with this part then you'll have a wonderfully trained adult dog. If you don't take the time to train it for even just this, you may have behavior problems down the road. "Potty" training, separation anxiety, etc. are all the things that have to be trained into a puppy so the adult dog will be a pleasant dog to be around for everyone!

  • Maybe you shouldnt have a dog then. You cant complain about whining its all part of it.

  • Was entertaining, but not very informational

  • Not true.

  • I know its not true so I have no idea why it seems I wrote such :\

They can be bad if misused, but with proper usage it is fine.

  • Properly trained dogs don't need crates but untrained puppies that chew on everything and pee everywhere do.

  • Everything I've read from experts states dogs of all ages need a crate for a lot of reasons. Not just for "potty" training. It's their home within your home, it's their "den". A place they feel safe, secure and at peace in. This is what experts say.

  • Cool, good info. Just wondering how long i can leave my 15 week old labrador retriver puppy in its crate. Also, i have a 42 inch by 30 inch crate, so should i get one of the divider things for it?

  • Puppies, especially one as young as 15 wks. old, should only play for 15-20 minutes, then have "down" time in their crate. They need to go outside for "pottey" time every 2 hrs. And sleep for 10-15 hrs. a day. So until your puppy gets some real age on it, it will probably be sleepping most of the time now anyway.
