I don't think you can get the same result.
You can't rotate your joystick, you can't push it up and down.

you CAN rotate the Saitek joystick. but yea, u cant push it up and down

but this can both move farward and tilt forward. aswell as to the sides and rotation

@miecz23 you can rotate them easily. and a simple configuration could allow the wheel on most joysticks to manuever the up and down.

It only works with certain apps, and the only game it works with is Second Life. So, no. It is mainly used for 3d developers (movies, games, CAD, etc.)
