yea it sux, i got tmobile too and i wanna get this phone but wana keep my old number. Its gonna cost me about $200 just to deactivate my Tmobile contract plus 300 for the iphone plus activation fee and all that bullshit so total estimate is prolly around $600 bucks!!! So its better off to wait and buy an unlocked one in the future and still keep my tmobile contract.

Probably not...but if you jailbreak it, when the software comes out, you can use tmobile.

PC vs Mac, nope the iphone has a better OS. Windows mobile is a clunky OS. I think android or linux would make them both obsolete. I just don't want you to get ripped man. I don't think I have had a smartphone in the last two years that can't bluetooth a simple file or use wireless headphones, or take a video, or send mms. Feature for feature most smartphones trump the iphone. The wow factor wears off quick. I do love the friendly UI and beautiful looks of the iphone but I want my moneys worth.

You haven't seen a phone that can do that GPS. You haven't been looking! Most have better GPS. Very few cell phones are limited like the iphone. No mms(can't send pictures), no video capture, no flash, no A2DP(stereo bluetooth, or file transfer), no conference camera, 3g is not new!!......C'mon guys do your homework. The media is taking advantage of you!

Slow down. I didn't say that I haven't seen a phone with GPS, just not one as smart as the iPhone as far as battery management, etc. The iPhone isn't limited by no means. Many smart phones don't have the features you're talking about and I haven't heard anybody say anything about them. Bottom line the iPhone is missing some features but it's still the phone to beat because it's OS is years ahead of any smart/touch phone out there. This is getting very similar to the Mac vs PC debate.

a 32GB iPhone won't be out 'till they come out with a 64GB iTouch. They will always have an iTouch that's at least twice the size of the largest capacity iPhone, otherwise, Apple would be cannibalizing its iPod market.

I just read on iphonebuzz that u cant get a 3g iphone without signing a two year contract also it have to be activated in the store and cant be activated at home. To me that sucks but they are trying to crackdown on on hackings

How about better response time, better contrast ratio, HDMI connection, built-in iSights like you said, LED Back-Lit display so there more room for improvements they can make to the Cinema Display line, Look at Dell their popping out new Display mostly every year, why can't Apple do the same? 4 Years is a long time.

Sure, im gonna replace my old iPhone with the 3G version. BUT it should have had a flash, higher megapixel camera, video recording, and a DV8 chip for mobile TV!!! ...it better have mms, stereo bluetooth and the ability to send photos to other phone via bluetooth!

yes the 3g iphone is now only $199. however because of the more expensive data plane the phone will actually cost $240 more over the life of the 2 yr contract vs. the current $399 iphone. so there's the magic trick. the phone actually costs the same! More for business users as they have to pay 45 bucks a month for data vs. 30 bucks for us non-business peeps. still too pricey for how much i'll use it's features...I'm still out.

no offence. 3g Iphone has NO REAL IMPROVEMENT. 3G-Okay. GPS-Not a Big Deal. Thats ALL. still the same crappy camera (2.0MP with no AutoFocus or Flash), Thickness increased slightly. Price is Great Though. But spec wise, check out Samsung i900. Better in every way. I just hope 3rd party devolopers don't fall for this phone over windows based phones.

I have to disagree , the camera has very good quality. I agree, there are phones that have way more features and bells and whistles but none of them stick out. Why? The iPhone's OS is far superior to anything else out there especially Windows based phones. Also, Apple has unprecedented support for their phone. Name another phone company that regularly updates their phone like Apple does. There is a flood of touchscreen phones in the market because they are playing catch up to the iPhone.

i have to agree to disagree. the 3.5" screen makes the 2mp picture look good, but really, it's still just a 2mp camera you'll find off a 3 year old phone. it's true iphone has a lot of hype, but it still hasn't taking a dent off other smartphone markets such as blackberry. as for the OS, it has a nice interface but it's retrictive. but since they opened it to 3rd party devolopers, i just i'll be allright.

as for updates, i can say the same about windows update, "completely useless". You shouldn't need to update it every second day just to have it crash on you. as for the touchscreen, true it was impressive when it first came out with multi touch, with great response, however, the Samsung i900 has a nice 3.2" vibrating response screen too. too bad it took a while to catch up (applause for apple). Thats about it. Same Iphone with two updates that not worth all the hype. ps, not a fanboy

Good points, but the path the iPhone is taking the same path that the iPod took. The iPod dominates the market and has set the bar high for all MP3 competitors. Everybody is playing catch up and that is the case with the Smartphone market. If the iPhone wasn't a great phone so many companies wouldn't be trying to compare themselves. Remember, it's barley been out for a year and look at the impact. And you can't compare Window mobile updates to the iPhone's. Period. Thanks for the comments!
