  • dude ur the chuck noris of technology

  • you are awesome. you have been 1+ internetz by chuck Norris

(witch in chuck Norris math, is infinity)

  • Nothing to be worried on security issues in cloud computing environment. Just try to get the concept and how this technology running then you can easily manage it's security issues also.

  • OMFG open up a web browser and then open up a PC and repeat... Did I just blow your mind?

  • Why does eye-OS require a Download?

  • Cloud Computing will be the next step to "BIG BROTHER" where you no longer own your own independent PC, but will be part of a

"WORLD WIDE" network owned and controlled by one corporate entity. And

we all know what corporation backed government means! Watch the 1970

movie "Colossus: The Forbin Project" to get a better idea! (Computer ...

takes over the world) One world Govt. where all worldwide computers are hooked up to one Main computer! Camera's will be next! As Prophesied:Revelation 13:15-16

  • @Acecool444 love your point, well taker acecool444

  • This could really help for anyone who has chrome os.

  • I want to make a Cloud OS...

  • this is nothing but standard internet based application delivery...

  • I dont see much in running OS in brwoser, i know its a first step. Im currently using online storage, which i accesing from portable devices and computers.

Sometimes i have need to use CC APPS.

No everybody has fast internet or even fast device for to use OS in brwoser.

Im prefering to load OS from internet directly to the device, as a primary OS.

Hope thats the future, that would make it a way easyer for my bussines.

  • @gigafide Do you know how to make these?

    I RLY wanna make one.

  • well i dont see any bondage

  • eyeOS is good OS but doesn't have too much memory to use (~100MB). BEST Online OS which I know is icloud! It has all what you need, and everything what have cloudo, oos, and simalar OS together in one place! You have 3GB of memory to use (with backup)(premium users have 3+100GB). Interface is simalar to Windows, it has sidebar with widgets and many other things. Website is: os.icloud.com | Info: icloud.com.

  • Ahhhhhhh it is a browser in a browser in a browser in a browser in a browser

  • @marq46 kinda reminds me of inception!

  • @marq46 Right :))

  • @marq46 yo dog I heard you like browsing so I put a browser in your browser so you can browse while you browse

  • @marq46 Inception?

  • I have signed up to a cloud, now I want to download an executable program from another internet page. I go there, I click on download... it goes ... somewhere? I can't find it. Anybody know if it is possible to do that?

  • Just woundering, whats a Proxy?

  • so basically cloud computing is a like the new version of the "terminal" just for the whole world ?

  • 1:10 Cloudo uses kde4 icons!!

  • Hi,

I watched your educational video regarding cloud computing. I thought it was a nice introductory to this technology. I'm a student in an MBA program, currently taking an IT course. I've done some basic google searches regarding cloud computing, but is there any resource that you would recommend? I'm conducting research on this topic. I don't quite know which direction I'm going, yet. Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards.

  • To me, Cloud Computing would be useful for netbooks. I'd like to stick to Mac OS, Windows, or Linux for regular computers though.

  • how do i create an account on eyos

  • Nice Video...I like it

    Good Work

  • Cloud computing opens up all kinds of security risks.

  • cloud computing explained here looks similar to performing remote login like in putty but the advantage in these new IOS has windows environment and do lots of operations like editing spreadsheet, playing games

  • The new player is slow!!!!

  • .....up /\...down \/

  • what is green computing then? how green computing in going to be in the future? how clouds can be green?

  • @RainbowMarket sorry i meant green cloud not green computing

  • do not go to the website this video references at the beginning and the end or you may get infected

  • good this video is nice, you've done a great job, thanks!!!

  • Back to the days of the dumb terminal and I bet a lot of businesses are stupid enough to buy into this.

  • Best Video . Cleared many concepts

  • Awesome video!

  • eyeOS even has its own FTP client nice!

  • eye os 2 sucks! i dont know why they changed it.. :(

  • i agree with you right there... It takes a long time to load than the previous version.

  • "using the internet for computing needs" !

there's nothing really new about cloud computing

i bet term is overblown by IT authors who are overwhelmed by the era of remote computing.

Just as buzz as "web 2.0"

  • BRAVO BRAVO!!!!!!!! I NEVER EVEN KNEW about this!!! Thats why i call myself Technical Novice or Tech-Novice because i'm a novice on technology but want to know more!!! This is great BUT where's the other video describing online cloud computing Apps? Please tell me! Thanx! :)

    Your Friend, -Technical Novice :)

  • great video!

  • This is Awsume, great video and the technology is extreemly good. For those of you that are concered with privacy, install your own server locally. If you would have bothered reading some of the applications are opensource and are extremly easy to install... you can run your own cloud virtual environment...

  • It's difficult concept to swallow. It's like falling sleep in stranger's home. How about personal and corporate privacy. With the world we live today, we're not there yet... to let all hung out. like; what the cloud servers are suggesting.

  • yes..just put your projects on their "cloud"... be so naive and dumb, that's what they lure you to do. give them for free !!! what the hell..why shouldn't they know EVERYTHING about you ? right ?

  • YouTube and other Web 2.0 sites ARE cloud computing. The only difference is that the GUI is a webpage inside a browser rather than an OS shell. The change in graphics user interface doesn't really make a difference in terms of privacy. You still lose your privacy by using the internet.

  • Got much clear idea about cloud

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice explanation, HOWEVER... What about our privacy?! Why should I put my program on the internet? What will happen with small companies that doesn't have money for all of this? There would be only one corporoation. Still, dislike!

  • @jekilojelsav you don't need to have any money at all to use cloud computing, look up Ubuntu linux, it has the feature of out of the box cloud computing. You can decide whether or not to use it.

    All for free.

  • great work!

  • Using all of your programs online? All? lol Yeah right, I dont see professionals throwing away Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Indesign, Maya, Cinema 4D, Fruity Loops, etc for a long, long time, not to mention hospitals, banks, Nasa, etc switching to 100% cloud computing. Not to mention that the internet infrastructure is totally not ready for it, not to mention that internet developments arent as fast as it seems, were still not using IP6 for example...sigh

  • Hey Tinkernut I Like Your Video And Im Going To Let You Finish,But HighT3chDad Made The Best Video Of All Time On Cloud Computing.

    OF ALL TIME!

    -srry :)

  • Lol in the beginning of the video i have the same monitor

  • I have the same monitor to

    xD

  • Hi

To be honest i wouldn't trust cloud computing for big organizations, as its not secure As most of us know that its easy to manipulate and change information in virtual world. And also if you have a big business will you trust cloud computing apps?? and this is the key question, but it will be definitely useful for small businesses and individuals.

  • @kalkanway If it is useful for small businesses it will be useful for big businesses. If, as you suggest, it is not secure for big businesses, why then would it be secure for small businesses? The reason is that it is secure for both small and big. I'm sorry, but you just punched logic square in the face with your comment. And what about cash? Do we no trade every day online with virtual cash; virtual obligations travelling around online? Yes, we do. It's the 21st century. WardblawG, Solicitor

  • @kalkanway That's why there are web-os servers which can be installed on your own dedicated servers. So yeah... If you are in big business and have lots of green cabbage then buy some servers and install web-os on those. Simple as that

  • @kalkanway You will because it costs less witch is a big thing bout businesses. also big companies and by big i mean BIG will have their own private clouds to store their personal data . but imagine the only thing that you need is a motherboard with a processor and bout 20gb of space since everything you will do would be at an online environment with its own save space .

  • @kalkanway i am really not sure why is not secure

  • @mahenisurs the service that is supporting this platform could leak your information. There is also a potential for data mining - the lack of privacy and security is what scares me. Who is in charge of keeping your information secure?

  • @kalkanway You are saying that only small businesses can / will benefit from cloud computing and so many others seem to agree with you. This gives a clear competitive advantage to small businesses.

  • @kalkanway this is a valid point however the entire file you have saved to the cloud is not stored in one location it is encrypted and sent to different places when you want to retrieve it a virtual key is sent piecing it back together then decrypting it so it is in fact more secure then home computing

  • I love the 1rst and the 3rd one!

  • COOOOOL!!! I love this thnx dude

  • This looks good but what concerns me are corporations. Suppose someone uploads all their data music pictures videos documents, etc. And then one day some company wants to CHARGE people to access their own data...

I never thought congress would have talks about charging for each email sent as email is taking revenue away from the post office but they are talking about that. Anyhow it's just something to think about.

  • tinkernut you are number one i watched many of your videos they give me something that i dont know and different angel on many technologies that are useful and intersting keep the good work

    many thanks

could you do a video on mashups

  • TIME TO INVEST!

  • can yo put alink with cloudo

  • I bet that online OS is slow as hell.

  • hey bro jst had one ques bout dis vid.....um u knw da last website u tell us bout n u also say u can install iso software on ur pc to make it a server.....can plz do vid on dat plzz

    hope ull reply to me

    ur fan 4rm nz :)

  • can you get viruses?

  • once download speeds about double and upload about 100x increase, could is gonna get very popular and usefull. But that would (I think) require optical cables for every broadband connection, which is unreachable in villages in Europe that's for sure.

  • nice

  • Another super-informative video, thanks!

  • man your the best.

  • agreed

  • omg this is awesome! i like coudo the best

  • he has some weierd passwords for his site i sighed up and he chose my password

  • hi why cant you use .exe`s

  • how much hard disk space do you have on those websites

  • dude people like you are the reason i get on youtube!!great videos you explain really good and show me stuff i don't already know.Dope son! :)

  • eye os looks like linux

  • google does everything for me in the cloud, office applications and aim and google talk straight from their site

  • mrljthedj : The server I think you can use it straight from your computer with your eyeOS login. As for windows .exe files, I think they can fully store, but may not be able to launch/install them. In that case, they might just be able to store it. You can upload and download it but you can't install it on the OS sometimes.

  • 300th rate!5/5!GO DANIEL(GIGAFIDE)!!!

  • very cool!

     i reccomend eye os too.

  • Waay cool. I'm checking this out right now. I already got me a cloudo account. I don't quite know what to do with it though. It is just nice having the opportunity to be able to acces certain files on any computer. Any cool things I can do with this?

  • 5/5 again ur pro man nice job!

  • thats cool!

  • i downloaded the sever to my pc but how do i connect to it on eyeos?

  • where can i download the eyeos server?

  • do they support .exe files and most other winows files?

  • thanks! 5/5

  • can you install programs?

  • I got cloudo a few months back, recommended by lifehacker

  • this is so epic i love this

  • The purpose of using an online OS is so that you have a secondary computer at your disposal. You have very limited space, and not many options to mess around with, but it's meant for portability. Like playing dumb games on your crappy cell phone. You'd much rather play high quality games on your PC, but you can't lug around your desktop, even laptop everywhere you go.

Besides, eyeOS actually has some cool features, but it's mainly for fun. Theoretically, you could just get a flash drive, right?

  • Mmm... so instead of using your own computer to run very efficient machine code locally you're using your computer to run highly inefficient, unsafe and error-prone interpreted code in your inefficient web browser (a document reader, not an operating system) and keeping open constant, easily hacked connections to someone else's webserver. And you suggest writing your documents (most of which fall into the 'confidential' category, by default) on this shite.

    Great idea.

  • what your doing is like comparing a server to an iphone. the purpose is not to replace a computer os, but to offer network processing/portability over centralized processing. and unless u unplug ur computer from the internet, ur system is just as vulnerable (if not more) than any of these websites. ur statements refer to the world of computing, not cloud computing. it seems ur concerns are misplaced.

  • So if you were looking for a portable method to an OS, why wouldn't you install a version of Linux to a thumb drive? This just seems like a gimmick to me...Interesting concept, but I don't see it's functionality. Don't get me wrong gigafide, I love your vids bro, just curious about this one in particular :) You can even avoid this by keeping a an executable version of Teamviewer and access your own computer over the internet.

  • i'm not trying to promote using a web OS. it's the whole concept of cloud computing that i was trying to show people. cloud computing encompasses any web apps, including e-mail, youtube, amazon, netflix, and salesforce (which most major companies now use). people use these apps daily on an individual basis...so the purpose of a web OS is just to bring together all of these existing web apps into a single interface. but if u don't see it's purpose, then don't use it. i'm just here to inform.

  • Ok agreed

  • @heardcountybrave I might be considering something like that with vmware server(linux and windows server). I'm still finding out about nomachine nx, where the server app is linux-only...

I wish apple could do this kind of cloud computing accessible via screen share...

  • You had me at proxy :D

  • This is cool, but what would you use it for?

  • Yes, I dont get it - I carry my nice mac-laptop everywhere and for me it's not interesting to use e.g. different computers. So what's the use? All I can see is that my docs would be somewhere out there for hackers to read, instead of safe on my hard disc...

  • safe on ur hard disc??? i sincerely hope that ur hard drive never crashes :-) if u don't get what it's for, then it's not for u, which is fine. but it scares me that u put so much trust into the security and safety of ur own computer. if ur connected to the internet, then ur computer is just as liable to be hacked as any website. it's tougher to hack a corporate website than it is to hack some home users computer.

  • @laurentius88 Yeah right. If only apple would create a online mac.... call it "MacOnline"(Not macweb) and charge it at a flat-rate of $4.99 a month(for 10gb), that would be cool. Imagine you no longer trust the advertised "10-hour battery" and go to an internet cafe, and how about using that to dump your itunes library on the net and it may be based on "vmware fusion server"...

oops i may have been dreaming too much... almost everyone knows it's Not possible to install mac on vmware...

  • your awesome daniel thavis

  • Thanks Daniel, You're amazing!

  • This guy is the real thing, no trash talking, he's not a EGO stupid, he is secure about him self. GIGAFIDE 10 Stars **********.

  • Awesome video. Do you know if its possible to install new programs in any of these cloud OSs?

  • i dont trust the web with my files..

  • after 5 hard drive crashes in 6 years, i don't trust my computer with my files. thank goodness for flash drives!

  • yea crashes are horrible.

  • @gigafide I Support Google and cloud computing... i have nothing to hide.. all my Secret files are on paper and eventually if i need to send them... i will use ftp server and scanner .... Also 6 years with 40gb HDD never crashed or any issue ! God i love that bitch <3

  • @gigafide After 0 hard drive crashes(and a few formats and reinstalls) in # years, I can always recycle the old disks from my broken pc's into flash-ish media(as in external hard drives)...

  • @gigafide Thank God for ThinkPads :D

  • @gigafide you would trust flash over a hard drive??? hahaha

  • Thanks!! That useful!

  • OMG THAT IS CRAZY 6 STARS

  • You are my hero! I'm never disappointed in your videos.

  • Wow, that was a really useful video

Thanks a lot- I'll definitely be trying out eyeOS now.

  • For proxy could you use Hulu since im in canada or did Hulu Block it?

  • Nice theme man i mean that's just wow

  • Is there a portable app for this. i might want to use this in school. but you guys know how slow school internet is. It'll take long to load the os itself b4 loading the files

  • i hate your new style of videos!

I liked them when you just showed you doing the things on your desktop.

The new way is not a straightforward and just animated.

  • thanks for the feedback. not to say that this style is permanent, but of all the styles I've been experimenting with, this one seems to get the greatest reception among viewers.

  • yea this video is not the style im talking about the older ones like How to Make an Online Store.

This is a great style of video and most of your videos really help with my PC problems.

(even though i am a techy person myself)

  • Also please can you tell me how you do that camera things? Its cool Make more vids awesome!

  • Hey man awesome vid can u tell me hw you make that thing up of your box c whr the suscribe button is at the right and top says tinkernut how you make tht thing to apear? Thanks

  • i dont mean to stomp on this parade but why would this be useful? its pretty much pointless. any ides why its better than the actual computing system?

  • keeping your desktop synchronized among multiple computers, having a more elaborate interface for your netbook, not having to worry about your stuff if your computer crashes, not having to worry about whether another computer is compatible with y
