I have never heard of the uninsured getting a discount on treatment.. It is because you HAVE insurance and they have negotiated rates of payment contracts with the providers that the INSURED DO get a contracted rate discount if the hospital or dr. is in the network. I understand THAT much having worked 4 a Health insurance co & taking Medical Billing & coding & having access to how that works. There is NO obligation to give discounted treatement to the UNINSURED,. That is what insurance is for!!

Barack Obama does not own the University of Chicago Hospital.... He isnt even the president yet. Till Inauguration day, he is not at liberty to stroll into the hospital and tell them how to charge their patients. What do they want from him??
Even if its true that he cannot do anything between his position as a senator, and his wife's position on the board of directors in that hospital, what is stopping his wife from using 200+ million per year out of her own pocket to pay for people's medical expenses?

The Biggest Problem we have here is:
First of all none of this happens over night! If you were really paying attention, Nixon started selling of our jobs to the Chinese after the Vietnam war. I have never heard of the uninsured getting a discount on treatment.. It is because you HAVE insurance and they have negotiated rates of payment contracts with the providers that the INSURED DO get a contracted rate discount if the hospital or dr. is in the network. I understand THAT much having worked 4 a Health insurance co & taking Medical Billing & coding & having access to how that works. There is NO obligation to give discounted treatement to the UNINSURED,. That is what insurance is for!!

Michelle's job is community outreach at the uchicago med center. They have arranged for free vaccinations/check-ups in the community & have directed people to free medical clinics, b/c Uchic med cntr is too expensive. This vid is very deceptive...

Right, and if you were familiar w/ the healthcare industry, you would know that many hospitals - in fact, the entire industry - had record breaking profit margins in 04, 05 & 06. Soooo, what's the point? Non-profit hospitals shouldn't make profits?!
Educational institutions make billions every year so that they can have money for the future -- UChicago med center did just that, and mainly from medicare paybacks from congress. And there's nothing wrong with that.

Obama's plan on trippling the funding to the middle east and sending more troops, more choppers and more drones shows you right there he would rather engage in nation building and policing the world. Tripple the funding while Americans lose their homes and can't afford health care for their families.

Barack Obama does not own the University of Chicago Hospital.... He isnt even the president yet. Till Inauguration day, he is not at liberty to stroll into the hospital and tell them how to charge their patients. What do they want from him??

Even if its true that he cannot do anything between his position as a senator, and his wife's position on the board of directors in that hospital, what is stopping his wife from using 200+ million per year out of her own pocket to pay for people's medical expenses?
I assume if these two were sincere about their desire to help Americans, and they are multi-millionares, then they would take the money earned through the hospital, and pump it back into that same hospital.

Obama got more money for his campaign from Wall street investors than any other president in the history of the US. 2. also, even if he cuts spending in iraq drastically, his programs would still add 482 billion to the national debt over his term. Any politician would be hung out to dry after doing that, so hell have to find the excess money someplace else. you can only take so much from the wealthy before it becomes extortion, so where else could you find extra revenue?
