Funny thing is that hese computers are now obsolete, replaced by the MacBook Pro. And the newest plastic one is even better than this one.

Which makes me feel outdated by buying one of these in 2008 for more.

@jpomsims - these computers are in no way obsolete, this macbook has several features no MacBooks will ever have. I have one of these and I love it! It's not obsolete, it's just rare.

What features? The newest plastic one has equal or better hardware, the Pro one is also aluminum. It can, although, be considered rare in a few years.

Jonathan Ive, Next time don't put the USB ports so close together, it's extremely annoying to have to disconnect things, or having to buy a USB splitter to be able to have a wireless mouse and something else on the second port

It's a shame you've been thumbed down for that gubatron (as of 15.1.10) because it's a genuinely annoying little flaw. Aesthetically the empty USB ports look clean and tidy together, but practically it's a nuisance with a flash drive or 3G stick. I think they (rather selfishly) designed it to Apple peripheral standards - you know, those tidy little white USB connectors. Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with I/O on both sides - I don't think it looks that bad and a fair trade for more room.

PC makers don't do this. Have you tried ringing your PC manufacturer for support?

Microsoft don't have this. Have you tried ringing Microsoft for support?

I've tried both, as recently as this week.

I enjoy in-store support, workshops and one-to-one training from Apple. Also telephone based support. Not for when it goes wrong, but on how to use their products.
