@scientist1882 This was World War II, son! They did the patriotic thing and donate all their body hair to be used for mattresses, rope, and smoke bombs for their fellow soldiers!
yeah..it's WW2...done in ,i think ,mid '42 or so.....looks like either at pendelton or out at camp gillespie....shirts off was a very common thing during static field training exersises at the time....camelback?..lol...how about some water discipline?
@Griffinltd Oh, no I'm not that old, no I was in Air Force basic training not to long ago, and if there is one thing I know it's that dril instructors or TIs or whatever they call themselves have a tendency to be very vocal and colorful in the way they speak.
Hey there Marine! Yeah you! Come here Devildog. Where the fuck is your blouse? Oh your doing MCMAP? I know we have a damn safety corpsman. And where is your camelbak? Hydrate or die Marine. What good is it that you are Ricky Ticky Recon with the bayonet if you are dead from dehydration?!
In close combat, there are many opportunities. the Bayonet, acts as a silencer. It also works well if you don't have time to react and get your knife.
American Soldiers/Marines still use bayonets. I saw a documentary about the invasion of Iraq and there were quite a few Marines who had bayonets fixed onto their M16A4 Rifles. The bayonets of today are far more useful though, they also serve as fighting knives.
Are you in the military? If not then you can learn a marital art that teaches to use a knife. Filipino arts teach alot of knife fighting..might be one option.
Haha 'American sign language.' If you're deaf, do you expect everyone to edit their videos with subtitles? No direspect here Heath1, I'm just curious.
Can you add captions to this video because I am Deaf, use American Sign Language and I really would like to know what the Drill Sergeant is saying please ? Thank you and God Bless the U.S. Marine Corps, Semper Fi.
Good Video, but it says these are "men", but why do they all shave their chests? Was Dont ask dont tell effective in WW2?

Is this an actual training video from WWII?
I doubt the instructor was as nice as the narroter made him out to be. Speaking from personal experiance.

@dalejrfan800
It is better than a knife in many ways, among them reach.
GaurdDuck 1 year ago
@GaurdDuck Did I say that it wasn't? But those who had Bayonets also were equipped with knives.

Teach this in Boy scouts! That would've been at least one useful thing I learned.

Same goes for my Type 56!

That was pretty cool. I personally wanna get a M1a, too bad they don't come with bayonet lugs anymore, but I'm pretty sure I can fix that.
I'd just need to find someone that'll teach me bayonet fighting and CQB!

lol the last time americans used bionets was in the vietnam war on their M16A1 rifles.
now, all soldiers have m4. Can't really imagine them using bionets on these =/
upsilone 4 years ago
M4 is a carbine version of the M16 still has a bayonet lug on it..so it can be attached.
