  • This is so cool!

  • You watchin Cheaters! lol

  • Lol it's a dumbo rat

  • I read about this game on some rat website and I've wanted to try it, but I don't think my boys will go for it. Your rat is adorable. lol

  • awsomeeeeeeeeee

  • What is good for your rats to eat Essentially, if it is ok for you is okay for a rat Bananas - but not green bananas Blueberries - All around good for rats Grapes - purple grapes are believed to help prevent cancer Rasberries Blackberries Boysenberries Peaches - without the pit Cranberries (and cranberry juice) Plums - excluding the stone Pomegranates Pears Kiwi Papaya Vegetable Broccoli Carrots Cucumbers Peas - Especially frozen for those hot summer days holy cow peas are good!!! eat that
  • @ShreddinWright There are a few exceptions though. Spinach, lettuce (there's no nutrition in lettuce for a rat), uncooked potatoes, peanuts (which I was surprised at), citrus fruits, then the obvious chocolate and coffee. Though, one of my boys did get into a chocolate bar. When I left him on the bed he hopped to my bedside table and ate part of a mini Hershey bar(he was very sneaky and clever lol) and didn't get sick, but I would never give it to them.

  • @ilovegnomeland yea, but dark chocolate helps my ratty with respratory issues... and i was listing good foods cause people said peas were bad

  • She's not fishing; she's peaing.

  • So cute! Better look under that hutch...there's probably poo a plenty after that escapade :D

  • LOVED the video! lol I'm gonna try this with my rats!!!! heehee! so cute how they hid them in your draw!! lol

  • I have a bunch of dried pea shells under my dresser that I can't reach. I hope they're not rotting down there! Silly ratties :D

  • mine do this...haha, usually i use a flat pan with pebbles in...they love it.

  • You are a great pet owner...it's awesome to provide that kind activity for your rats in terms of having them hunt for their food and giving them a challenge like pea fishing...they are so cute!!! I wish more owners were like you!!!

  • I'd say one of the best things about this video besides Skippy would be that she's watching Cheaters in the background! CHEATERS!!!!

  • don't they poop everywhere??

  • normally they do... i had one who always went back in the cage to poop :P the others did not

  • You can toilet train them so they always use one corner of thier cage and never poop outside the cage.

  • How do you do that? My rat is a little pooper. I get hesitant to hold him because I know it's only a matter of time before he unloads on me =/

  • kekekkee i love your rats colouring

my rats love pea fishing - well, one does. Snuffles the sneezy rat is a pro at pea fishing. She scoops around for peas, stuffs her mouth with 5-8 peas (shud take a pic, its hilarious), then runs off to her pea stash. The other rat, Monkey hates water so she waits for Snuffles to do her fishing, and when she is out at the water bowl, Monkey runs to the pea stash and goes raiding.

  • omg sooo cute

dont worry i had the same problem with my rats.. hiding things in my drew under the bed =)

  • Haha! " Hi! " -Chuckles- "Where'd You Put The Pea?" BAHAHAHA

  • oh snap i take that back it was cheaters

  • LOL Intervention was on the television XD

    Cute rattie

  • "Where'd you put the pea?" LOL!

When your rats go under those coubords do they some how climb up through into the draws?

  • It's all open on the inside, and they just climb up the backs of the drawers and hop right in!

  • That is so cute to see, how adorable :D

  • LOL! I cracked up when you opened the drawer!

  • Haha my rat did this mit cat litter^^...

I filled it in her cage instead of chipped wood because my dad reacted allergic...>__>

But she took the cat litter balls and threw them in her water bowl. And later when they were macerated she fished them out and threw them in her food container....I did never understand her but she was so cute :D

Your one is a really cutie too^^

  • cool vid

  • please respond: what kind of peas do u use for this? where do u buy them from? and what is the best brand?

  • Just regular frozen peas in a bag, Green Giant or what have you. Just thaw them in some warm water, then fill your bowl up with room temp water and add thawed peas!

  • Oh no! The secret base is revealed (:

  • Hehe this is a good way of keepin rats cool in the Summer. It's never made any of my rats sick, so that idea is ridiculous. Its quite funny to watch =D

Very cute rat btw. Do you also find pea shells all over the place when they are done fishing? lol

  • awe...adorable!

  • Cute rat!I love it's coat color and ears!:)

  • I'm afraid I've never heard that. Can you provide some evidence or links for me?

  • @cinemageek Rats Are Allowed Peas if You look On The Rat Fourms Ect like RatFourm.com you can find out what they can eat and what they can't eat rats can basicly eat anything :)

    From Mark x

  • Peas should be safe... Raw beans aren't. Raw beans are slightly poisonous for both rats and humans.

  • yeah, peas are fine. definateley dont feed your ratties raw beans though.

  • @ringmoen peas do not hurt or make rats sick. thats a fact!

  • @ringmoen Likewise, I have never heard this. In fact, everything I have ever read says pretty much the exact opposite by specifically recommending 'pea fishing' as an enrichment activity for pet rats.

  • @ringmoen lol. No it doesn't. Go to any rat website and it's on the list of safe veggies to feed them. Stop spreading lies. Most of us good and loving rat owners check out which foods they can/can't have before buying rats.

  • good idea might have to try that with my boys thanks for posting the vid

  • lol

  • Haha, I love pea fishing!
