Great Video! I'm trying to build a projectile launcher for a school project. It's suppose to be fired 1 meter from the starting point. Was wondering if the popsicle stick catapult would be better compared to the mousetrap.
The mousetrap looks like it may have to much force and fire the projectile beyond the target. I would really welcome your advice :)
I went to your website and built the base, just like it said. I cut 3 2 inch pieces and 6 4 inch pieces, but the base wan't big enough. Did you put the measurements in wrong? I would really like to build this, but the instructions are wrong. Please help?
I made one and it doesn't shoot right, I followed the directions perfectly but it won't shoot up, just forward, it wouldn't get high enough to get into that cup, what am I doing wrong? I did fix it though but I would like to find out how to use the regular design, I made a crosser to stop it before it gets straight up, so the projectile goes up and foreward
My school did this for our science lab one day, we had 12 teams, we measured and recorded data from flinging marshmallows. Needless to say, This is awesome!
PLs help...... I dont know how to make it. I only know how to make the base but the top..... i dont knw.. Can it be possible to be made larger and shoot a tennis ball?
Hi! Sorry you are having trouble. Check out the link to my website. I have a full tutorial on this catapult and other catapults too. If you can't find it send me a youtube message and I will send you the link.
I would say you most probabably could make it fire more than ten feet by using a stronger rubber band and by making the upright popsicle stick double thickness for strength. Maybe double the catapult arm too. I have another popsicle stick catapult on my website that can fire much further. It is shaped like a pyramid and bigger than this one.
how do you keep the launching arm thing keep from flying away? how do you connnect it to the base? i really wanna make it work cause it loooks soooooooooo cool

Pretty sweet man...
I found this looking for some trebuchet specs for my freshman physics class and built a similar one pretty quickly...
Thanks for the idea!
