That was incredible. All three trumpet solos were fantastic, including the last note-for-note Bix solo. It was great NOT to hear the Godawful vocal on the original (though I've heard it so many times I've almost gotten fond of it). I have the Peter Ecklund transcription book, but it doesn't have this tune in it. Guess I'll have to learn it off the record. Well done and thanks for posting this.

For those who don't know this, this was one of the last songs Bix recorded with his hand-picked studio orchestra {for Victor} in September 1930, before he stopped recording altogether....

I missed this performance. A nice touch to have the cornetists/trumpeters to each play their tribute for Bix :-)

Oops...never mind. I did see this performance. I'm the idiot howling approval at the end (ahem - sorry.)Apparently I had so much fun I forgot half of what happened.
