@hegler2-so you're saying that when the Bible says gates, it's referring to churches? Those parenthesis means you put your own spin on what you think the Bible says. One way to salvation, that is through Jesus Christ. Any other way through somethig other than Jesus Christ will not get you to heaven.

I don't think there is that much emphasis, to be put on the name of the building, I am in the Church of God, do your little concordance thing on that one! My church pops up more verses than yours does, LOL! But that is not why I am there! YOU SHALL KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUIT! The congregation bears good fruit. We obey the commandments of God, & We have the testimony, and faith of Jesus Christ. Really, DON'T PUT SO MUCH EMPHASIS ON A NAME! I was just kidding, it was not meant to be arrogant!

I honestly feel bad for the gentleman on the phone, being manipulated by Norm. If only the caller was more rooted in God, he'd be able to stand up against the host. What if a Baptist church somewhere taught the same thing Norm's church taught, are they wrong? Oh, and Norm, I'm sure God is pleased with what you're doing, trying to "prove" other churches aren't Biblical.

When Jesus said in Matt 16:18 that I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail..what are the gates of hell..read Genesis 28:17...there is only one gate to heaven, those other gates (churches) lead to hell

So, are you saying that I need to be of the "Baptist Occupation" in order to be saved? By the way, what is the "name" of your church? What is the "name" of your religious organization? Where is it headquartered? Answer those questions and then show me where it says the same thing in the Bible.

Christ was RIGHT and Norm is WRONG. The Church IS "the body of Christ" and the "body of Christ" DOES NOT EXCLUSIVELY meet at the brick & mortar building with "Church of Christ" on the sign out front.

I do not believe in "Christian Inclusiveness" - the call to be a disciple of Christ is high; but it is not so high as to require the dogma, legalism, and errant theology of the C of C denomination who's arrogance far exceeds that of the Pharisees!

I could not agree with you more - the people who are saved are people who respond to Christ with repentence and trusting faith - they are the ones who make up the "church" i.e. "the body of Christ"; and those folks are called out of many different denominations including some out of the Church of Christ denomination.
