If there's any target of this kind of humor, it's the kind of oversensitivity about male violence that the spray-happy woman, and some of the commenters here, demonstrate. It's a stupid commercial, but it isn't misandry. Its reference is the societal expectation of male violence against women, one that has come from a long, proven history of violence against women. The joke is that it's gotten to the point that women can't be out on the street without fearing attack from perfectly normal men. It's not just, oh look, a dude, let's pepper spray him.

the reason i still find it funny even if the guy got hurt, is because he's a guy...we tend to be more proud then girls, we'd try to get over the pain ignore the pain...or just plain ignore everyone else till the pain goes away. :P
