@charhagaru I think Bibhuti bhusan being nominated for nobel prize sometime in 30s was a rumor because there was no English (or any other language) translation of his work (including Pather panchali) at that time. Yes I agree many many writers of Rabindric age and Post Rabindrik age fully deserves Nobel or any other international prize. But unfortunately Language is a barrier..Every benagli boy of that time had a 'Apu' inside them. May be that's the greatest prize for a writer.
