  • yours are more active than mine and i never see mine gointo there water ? should i worry ?

  • So social, mine hides away all day and only feels like comming out at night to feed.

  • @KillerFlood02 During the summer these guys were on the prowl but come fall they were digging in again like last year. Kind of strange since the tank temps remain fairly constant.

  • @cwshirey Maybe they got an internal calender?

  • @cwshirey Regardless of temp they are preprogrammed

  • Can you handle them? Ive sen some people handle them without a problem but others get pinched.... what are yours like?

  • @Zero11270 They don't seem to mind sometimes but the use their claws to hold onto things. So if it happens to be your hand......pinch !

  • @Zero11270 They will defend themselves if they feel a threat. I have had no issues dealing in their tank cleaning but I don't stick my fingers in their burrows either !LOL

  • What size of tank is this?

  • How long do the live ?

  • @MrKontrollanten It's said to be around 10 years.

  • @cwshirey OK.....THEY LOOK NICE.

  • @MrKontrollanten LOL, yeah they're cool little creatures.

    Very shy too.

  • @cwshirey are you from usa?

  • @cwshirey Ok ... i am from sweden .. i dont know why i want one of this crabs but they look cool even if they are small animals.

How long have you have you had them?

  • @MrKontrollanten I've had these guys around 4 or 5 months.

Just don't let them dry out. Moist soil they like.

    No issues.

  • okay thanks!

  • No problem.....

  • and....the crap? and what is that "sand" that you use

sry for the english i'm brazilian

  • feces,,,lol.

    Odorless fully digested.

The tank only has a humus smell.

I used a deep bed of sand on the bottom with another layer of 100% organic potting mix.

  • how do you clean th vivarium?

  • Surface cleaning is all I have done to this tank.

These guys leave nothing in the line of food to decay.

    They eat everything !

  • love the vids but should do a update on these guys keep up the gd work

  • Will do. ;-)

  • @cwshirey Hey one of mine is all white but it is a holloween crab, what do i have to do in order for it to molt or do i have to do nothing and what is the primary diet you give them?

  • Sounds like a possible molt. Deep, packed moist substrate would have been a good place to burrow.

Mine eat a variety of foods. They are scavengers and will mop up almost everything.

  • AWSOME vid! too funny.... :)

  • 0_0 I WANT ONE!!!!

    where do you get these?

  • The only place I have seen good ones are reptile shows and they are far and few between.

This vendor only had 4, they came home with me. I have heard a life span of between 10 and 15 years on these guys.

  • excellent, ill be on the look out!

    thanks for the info!

  • Crabs are so funny lookin'. They're almost like little robots or something. That one crab really wanted the lettuce to himself!

Is there any way you can tell the two apart?

  • As far as I know like other crabs, look at the belly. Males will have a spear shaped pattern on the belly.

  • VERY COOL

i just add this to my favorite videos, to bad that rate only go to 5* or will have give it 500*

  • I hope the shyness wears off.

They are almost like little clowns. Omnivoes, eat averything.
