  • it was nine its obvious because if it would be 3, 9 would not fall, this is for sure

  • Guys, they had to replay the shot one frame at a time to see the difference. Give everyone a break here and move on with your life.

  • This is why there is a referee. As a player, I can understand Bustamante's behavior. You play until the referee calls a foul on you. To him it appeared to be simultaneous contact. Nobody watching initially thought it was a foul. To Peach it probably looked questionable. Why do you think they had to do a frame-by-frame replay? Thanks to instant replay the correct call was made.

  • long live racism and caos

  • An obvious foul. No replay needed to see it.

    Bustamante is a f-ing cheat, that's all.

  • @widebody123 how is he a cheat? was hard to tell even on slow motion

  • @widebody123 It wasn't deliberate and fouling isn't cheating.

  • @ProdigyKimXP Agreed on both. But pretending it was a legal shot when it was an obvious foul (admittedly close) IS cheating. After the 9 dropped you could even see his nervous glance to the ref as if thinking 'let's see if I get away with this'.

He then continued to disrupt the game disputing the unequivocal video reviewed decision. He should have been disqualified and forfeited for unprofessional conduct.

  • @widebody123 Could you actually get disqualified for that? I mean, it isn't his responsibility to say when he's fouled or not. That's what the reff's for, right? That's just my thoughts but plz let me know. I'm curious now.

  • @ProdigyKimXP Here's a quote from the BCA official rules....

It's the BCA Pool league referee is in fact the final authority in all matters of judgment. The BCA takes the extra step to actually list out which situations involve matters of judgment. Matters of judgment include situations where it must be determined whether or not:

    •a player's conduct is unsportsmanlike;

I believe the only reason they did not enforce this is for fear of leaving Manila in body bags.

  • now peach decides to take a break in the middle of a rack? after the ref says carry on? who the fuck do this peach assfuck think he is? fucking tool! fuck i hates that jerk! limy fuck

  • definatly hit the 9ball 1st....on the overhead view notice that the white ball moves downwards slightly once it contacts the balls...if it hit the 3ball first it wud move upward slightly

  • the nine moving first is not evidence that it's a foul, there is a difference in the speed of each ball, and the nine had a ful hit where the three ball had a thin cut which makes the nine moves faster. it might be a situation where it's impossible to find which ball was hit first since they don't have a really close camera

  • @hassanoof: Dude, it IS a foul... and yes.. the nine moving first is evidence. Look at the cueball: If the three would have struck first and then kiss off the 9, the cueball would have been somewhere around the area where Django's tip was at. BUT since the cueball moved more up table, it is proof enough that he DID hit the 9 first. Just look at the previous part (5/7) of this video and focus on the tangent hits the cueball takes. It is clearly a foul.

  • It's not just that one can see the nine to move first, one can then see the cue ball move sidewards before it even hits the three. Realistically, of course, it's not bad luck but the mistake that led up to the kick shot that really made all the difference, not the kick shot or referee call that followed. If I were the player, I'd be furious at MYSELF for NOT getting the bridge when I should have known I couldn't perfectly well reach the shot - no one else to blame there.

  • I've played a lot of pool in my time and I know this situation. For Buster, it's easy to think that he hit the 3. It can feel that way as a player. The replay shows differently. Definitely the 9 first though it was desperately close. I'm an Aussie and I see no reason for anyone here to slag anyone. Grow up.

  • You gotta hand it to these guys, they're pro's and gentlemen... I can just see Strickland in this match breaking his shit already.

  • I think simultaneous hit, foul. Good call Nigel Rees, and well done for not letting the crowd intimidate you.

  • if your saying its a simultaneous hit then it would be a legal hit

  • No, a simultaneous hit is a foul in this competition. Pool has so many rule variations.

  • Well, jango's shot to 3 ball was obviously foul. And crowd's attitude basically came from their feeling Mr.Peach was really deserve to win. Now huge serious pool player doubt Mr.Peach's playability, he had too many fluke shots in WPC 2007, specially in final match.

  • I'd like to "fluke" my way to a world championship one of these days.get serious man..if you understand the capricious nature of 9ball then you know you have to live with it. I'd take 17 9ball breaks in a row or 1-9 combos for the title and devil be damnded. If you are a true fan of the game and not just another hometown sycophant, Respect the Champion and move on.

  • There were few fluke shots. It was just that his opponent choked on some easy shots.

  • you insult Filipinos now, but i bet when you're there you kiss ass and rent young filipino boys! PRICK

  • No you CAN'T trust the fans. They are Filipinos. You can't trust a Filipino. I've been there before and they are cheaters and liars :)) Just look at the SEA games in Manila several years ago. Apparently they were rigged to make sure the Filipinos won the entire competition. Liars, cheaters, thieves, cunning people

  • That's why Osama bombed you assholes coz yall are always hating on someone

  • When you said we're cheaters and liars, you're talking about the whole country as a whole. I'm 100% Filipino and I'm neither a liar or a cheat so when you say they, you mean everyone as a whole. You're going get that kind of response in any country that a respected guy plays for his homeland. Filipinos are just Filipinos.

  • Australians. Are you kidding me? You're saying your better then us. Come On.

  • Filipinos will be filipinos as will Australians will be Australians no matter what.

  • Correct call was made and Daryl Peach went on and won. Enough said. Credit to Nigel Rees as Nick Halling mentioned for staying cool when the crowd were beign very unsporting.

  • This decision was down to a fraction of a milimetre - the difference between success and failure. Very well done to the ref for staying very calm.

I can understand Bustamentes point because the cut on the red would have been the slimmest of contacts. The 9 is going to move considerably more.

It's good also that the technology was put to good use! But next time get a 1000 frame a second camera!

  • I agree, but I don't think it's a definitive hit on the 9 first as all these refs and commentators say. The angle from overhead can be notoriously deceiving. The angle from right behind is the best and there simply aren't enough frames to make a definitive call. If it did think the 3, which looks possible, then the whole match changes. I think you have to be careful when bringing technology to the table because in this case it's simply not good enough.

  • I was there, it was amazing to see this unfold.

  • U were there watching this tourney? Are you a foreigner in the Phils?

  • Weel done Nigel!!!

  • What a controversial fluke shot by django. Anywhere you look it was a bad shot.
