Love this... However, I hope the sax player has stopped rolling the sleeves up on his sport coat, got rid of the mullet, got some sun and lost some weight...
Gatemouth Brown was the first blues musician I ever saw play live. That was in 1994 when I just turned 21 years old. Gatemouth and his band played at this small, dark bar in Albuquerque, New Mexico called The Dingo Bar (now called Burt's Tiki Lounge). About 100 to 150 people were in attendance. That small audience was treated to one of the coolest shows ever played in that bar. I sat about 10 feet away from Gatemouth and just soaked in every second of his music. Unforgettable night.
Rumor has it Gatemouth was made an "honorary deputy" in a small town in Texas so he could always carry his pistol with him... legally. Rock on Gatemouth!
Yup.. nothing like GATE.. God game him those long strong fingers to play guitar with.. BTW, who is the SAX PLAYER??? dude is good.. would like to hear more of him.

how was this guy poor and suffering during the hurrican katrina, when he was this popular. Damned white pepole stealing up the black man blues. Fuck them pale niggers. lol
Good Lord, I miss Gate and his band. Safe to say few could stand in their shadow. I've seen the best of the best in many genres and Gate's Express just stomped on them, even the fastest, loudest "metal" bands out there. The intensity these guys put over on the audience was beyond words. R.I.P., Gate...the memory lives...

That's Baton Rouges's own David Peters on drums. Original Drummer for Louisiana's LeRoux. Many famous recordings such as New Orleans Ladies.
