  • "He was walking by, we pulled him in, choked him out, kept it real" LOL

  • isnt it bad to go unconscious and get choked out "thousands and thousands of times" ???

  • @LowLeveledPower yeah you would think he would have some kinda brain damage or something!!!?

  • i know this is an old video, but i paid attention to every detail of this sub, and i have had a lot of success with it. Its a good distraction and difficult to know whats coming next. i just love this technique.

  • hey every gracie does the shading. that is awesome.

  • How can I escape from there // how to defend a arm triangle choke attempt?

  • that is a sick triangle choke

  • lol he talks a lot like rener

  • at 4:24 i would do a pankration move its where you pull the bottems guys wrist towards his feet and his elbow is pointing straight--> while in chest to chest position, keep lifting his wrist out and up until he taps or the shoulder breaks, your way works too great vid you guys

  • his expressions and attitude and the way he says stuff reminds me of rener

    this can be VERY annoying

    DEEP

to make sure his hand blah blah blah

    haha

  • what would the ufc be like if royce gracie didnt show this beautiful art of jui jitsu thanks royce

  • @slipknot420420 a different gracie would have done it with better technique lol

  • i got my ass kicked all the time by my brother. can you imagine this poor bastard?

  • What a great family

  • "it's all gravie" or i don't know how to spell it ;P but its an awsome gracie line :D i have to start saying that :P

  • @takidabossen please don't start saying it

  • @thevalkyrie8 why not?

  • Such an awsome and wonderfull technique :D

  • LOL, it really looks like the choke is being applied on both of them at the same time. Reylan is like "woof, that was a good one"... :-D

  • Is the arm triangle and the side choke the same thing?

  • @schubbel It depends! Can you be more specific with " A sidechoke"! do you mean when you put pressure with the blade of your forearm on the oppentents neck from sidemount? If so then it's not the same thing! But if you mean something else please tell me! ;=

  • Gracies reproduce like bunnies.

  • When sprawling out (this helps against the bigger opponents naturally) get a near 90 degree angle. When applying the choke, it is imperative that the hand that was hugging the opponents neck is the TOP HAND. Ralen showed it in the video, To add extra pressure, crank the top hand towards your body along with your opponents' head. But, be careful! My friend didn't talk to me for a week.

  • I heard about someone with multiple limbs, imagine if all those limbs were fully working, like extra hands. I think they'd be an unstoppable force in MMA. Not even BJJ could save you. Like that baby from China if its limbs were fully working, you could grapple with him and restrain his arms and he'd still be able to swing at you. Also he'd be able to do one hell of a juggling act.

  • @Makron5 lol its illegal to not let someone participate in sports because of a genetic disorder in the u.s that would be funny as hell

  • @Makron5

or it just gives them more exposed limbs to submit

  • @elbowtko I think having more limbs is a boon in grappling. He is less likely to be restrained if you don't have enough body parts to hold his limbs down.

  • interesting, i like

  • the first thing i learned b4 any choke hold or python hold was how to stop a choke hold

  • Thumbs UP to see more moves from Reylan!

  • i would LOVE to be a Gracie LOL

  • sic

  • 0:41 haha is it just me, or did reylan react WAY to quickly to rener's comment..lmao

  • Position before submission? Isn't that a Tony Ceccene saying?

  • it's a jiu-jitsu mantra.

  • i believe so

  • @nightvisionmonocular Gene LeBell says that too.

  • great job reylan im going to try this next time 5/5

  • 3:57 lmfaoooooooo

  • Great job! Love the way you teach! Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Rocks!!!!

  • yep, nice transfer, but i don't think that you should ever to put hand under neck when you are in mount position. why? becouse like here, rener can escape just liftin his hips and rolling to his right. just keep his arm under the neck and block his leg. So 2:20 is the point where the escape would be done.

  • not to be personal, but what are you? a white belt? blue? Rener is a black belt with a lot of experience. He wouldn't let his 'younger' brother show something he didnt believe in.

as long as reylan keeps his weight to the right side, he shouldn't be rolled. If that doesnt work, he could use his left leg to keep himself from being rolled.

  • It doesn't matter what belt i am. Use your own sense.Actually it's Bas rutten who says that. And you can try it. The only way he can prevent from being rolled, is not his left leg, but right. Even tho they say, when doing americana from the mount, you should put your opposite leg for preventing rolling, but actualy you are not being rolled to that side, but to the opposite. Try it. I have a great ammount of respect to gracies, but also to ufc and pancrase champion bas rutten.

  • Jiu Jitsu has no rules... you can do whatever you wanna do as long as you know what you are doing! NEVER do this or ALWAYS do that IS NOT Jiu Jitsu

  • haha :D.. now that doesn't make any sense does it? Well, do what ever you want, but i just say, if you are against of good opponet, you will lose your position coz of this move.

  • Well, sounds like you are sitll too "brand new" for Jiu Jitsu. Like I said before, if you know what you are doing, you are safe... you will know how to counter the opponent's counter... Just ask Roger Gracie, he submitted all his opponents in the last World Championship using a choke from the mount position, some of those chokes having his arm behind the opponent's neck. I'm sure that all the guys he submitted were "good opponents".

  • Of course, that is ovious. And like i said before, you should just be aware of the thing the he could roll you while doing this, so when he tries it, you know what is coming, and stop doing the americana, and look for balance, coz as allways, positioning first.

  • I see what you're saying, but I would also add

    1) If the choke is in position, it wouldn't matter. It works from guard too.

    2) If you have based to the side and/or controlled the hips, (like these two guys always do) or maybe even grapevined the legs this won't be a problem.

  • @Sakrich not true,

all you have to do is put your shoulder into his chin and turn his face. Its impossible for him to roll you unless there is a massive size difference. Bj penn does this all the time.

  • @themasterplan23 i didn't get it? how?

  • @Sakrich

put your arm underneath his head. Your shoulder(the one thats underneath), put that into his chin, and turn his head to the side. Basically, one side of his face should be on the mat. Its impossible to bridge when his head is turned to its side.

  • reylan sort of looks like shia labeouf

  • @5:30 listen -- this is a slow choke.

  • the more I use this the more I like it.

  • head to head contact is key here - also I found leaning into works sometimes on big guys.

  • I didn't pinch my head the first time which weakened the choke...

  • I tried it for the first time and it didn't work the second time did the trick, thanks!

  • there is ways out of every lock iam mma fighter

  • I use this today and worked 3 times out of 3. Your neck will be sore, though

  • Nice, precise explanations. It looked as though Reylan was on the verge of choking himself out several times! lol. I also tend to get light-headed myself when doing this choke!

  • this looks great. i'm gonna try this 1 for def

  • the gracies are one family you would NOT wanna mess with :P

  • without guns

  • haha yeah never start a fight at the gracie familly reunion

  • @RodrigoVanilla93 i heard a story one time some guys were bothering Kyra Gracie at school, and a bunch of the cousins came to the school and chassed the guys down haha, i dont think those guys that bothered her r still alive to tell the story:P

  • Gracie family thank you. I received my combative dvds 2 days ago. I am learning so many different and effective techniques that they don't teach me at my jiu-jitsu class. TY

  • Reylan u are definately coming up son, seriously. Fellas listen we are so greatful for these tips honestly. Especially for us guys who have Wak instuctors or no bjj schools in the area. May the Lord Bless You!

  • back then he had no choice....he was walking by ....we pulled him in choked him out and keep it real......LMFAO......fucking funny from 0:20 to 0:50

keep it real gracie......and keep the videos coming

  • Where I live we have no Jiu Jitsu schools around (well there's one but the instructor eh...) anyway, just want to say thanks to you guys for posting these vid's. You're really helping us out at our dojo to get a better grasp on grappling, especially the small details which a lot of instructional's leave out. Your hard work and free advice is much appreciated.

  • this move is sweet!

  • "Its good" lol 3:58

  • @JdawgMMAblog that was weird huh?

  • @JdawgMMAblog

You can tell that guy gets a high off a proper choke. Scary scary dude.

  • thaks so much...

  • Fantastic, of all the brothers i like his style of thinking and teaching the best.

most likely because hes just a year older then i am.

  • Great transition, I'm going to give it a try. Thanks a lot guys!

  • wow, that is a great response to the headlock-americana defence. thanks so much reylan and rener, my training partner is going to love this.

  • First Great job teaching Reylon! I'm impressed with your style.

This is a great transition, and I really have liked playing with it. I can't wait to put it into practice :)

  • Woah, this is the first time ever I got the arm triangle to work. The final positioning and squeeze is what I needed to see.
