It is pretty piss poor when you have this beautiful woman talking in a captivating accent -- and telling you about how much she practices and how hard she works, and then she goes and plays this amazing piece on the piano -- and all they can think to put for a comment is something about the Star of David behind her. So what if she is Jewish or supports the Jewish people. That just bumps her up further in my book because it shows she isn't ashamed to tell her views.

@theBASSOE yes, her technique is mostly flat-fingered, which is perfectly acceptable if done correctly, just as curved fingers. Watch Horowitz & how he uses both as he plays a piece. Can't say if your teacher was wrong or not, s(he) may not have known. btw were you taught thumb over or as most teachers: thumb under? TO is what has to happen to play fast. See Askenazy's Chopin Op 10. No. 1. -- Ms. Igoshina has beautiful playing. lovely. A real treat.

Her Chopin performances are so elegant and dignified. So are her Rachmaninov performances and of course Liszt, but not on the same level as Chopin. It's like she's a female re-incarnation of Chopin, which is why her interpretations are so damn good.
