  • damn fine!

  • Christian's solo is soo nasty in this. One of the few bassist who really can transcend with the instrument. If u were to transcribe this solo for piano or sax it would still be a bitch to play. He's the man hands down.

  • Heard him bow "Moonlight in Vermont" many years ago at the old Catalinas in LA and it knocked my socks off. Heard him play electric as well and he sure as hell ain't no slouch there!

  • simplesmente DEMAIS!

  • They're all great players, but Brecker is on another level.

  • what a great young bassist keeping in tradition

  • This is a fucking shredfest!! I love McBride

  • Wow. It's so good.

  • I love these really angular, avante garde, bass solos. But they are so hard to come by. Takes alot of mental energy and focus to create that kind of solo..

  • THIS IS GROUP IS SOOO BAD ASSSS, no other words to describe how these guys are just throwing down these lines out of the changes, sooo abstract. Thank you for this recording, monnnnsters!

  • the bassy is niiiiiice!!

  • that fool can swing on that bass man, not many cats like that these days

  • GU AU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:10 sec - 1:15 :D:D:D bass solo ooooomggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!! :D

  • f...monster!!!

  • cool mofu

  • omg what a Bass Solo

  • Christian McBride, hands down is the best bassist in Jazz today!! And Alvin Queen is legendary...Benny Green too...this was a great GROUP and is a great recording. thanks for sharing

  • @paymark i think brian bromberg is to. but mr. mcbride plays with more soul and funk than any other bass player

  • @paymark got to see him live on DRUMS AND BASS 2 months ago.

  • McBride sounds so much better on upright than on electric!

  • True, but he still sounds SICK on electric.

  • I don't think "sounds so much better on the upright than the electric" is the right phrase. I think it's "he has much more personality" on the upright. He plays the shit out of the electric, too. I'm sure if he played the electric as much as he played the acoustic, he'd have as much of an undeniable personality on that, too.

  • Well put.

  • he has amazing tone and pitch even while playing those 8ths and fast triplets he is just an amazing soloist

  • nice!great chops!

  • Bowserjoe:) HAAAAAAAAAAAA

  • AHHHH! That diminished thing at 2:10 is soooo killin! From the reeeeeeally high G harmonic to the open E. omg best bass solo ever! :-D

  • amazing.left me speechless...the cycle of 4ths licks was nice.

  • Yeah, it reminded me of Freedom Jazz Dance.

  • que buena Musica!! 10/10

  • I like how Christian's solo at the end tied in the melody creating a smooth transition to the next part of the piece!!!

  • This group communicates very well between each other. They each build of the energy from each other which is amazing!!!!

  • Amazing! To bad the sound isnt that good. Christians solo is one of the best ive ever seen!

  • That's a matter of opinion. Some players can make a trombone a bass sound so good that it does become interesting; someone like Christian McBride, for instance.

  • exactly, and so much can be done with the bow too, which gives it a whole different sound

  • Guys like Paul Chambers and Christian McBride are as interesting as any other soloists. Same goes for bone players.

  • you suck the big one

  • Wooahh! Awesome intonation and technique throughout Christian's whole solo. So crazy! I know what I'm transcribing next.

  • I hardly dare to ask, but if you still have the transcription, can you maybe please send it to me?

  • holley shit thats sick!
