Listening this by the second time, I feel he is not so horrible like I felt the first time. Now, I think he doesnt search an "easy emotion" but the emotion is there. I dislike the last bars and think trills could bee a bit faster, but I must apologize my anterior "horrible".
@djenricomastermix Chopin's music is already "emotional" it does not require the performer to "make" it emotional. This guy plays with the soul of a rare breed of musician. He will be remembered for his musical sincerity long after we all go to God.
I totally agree with you (sic) ItsTheAus, he has to go deeper...however I haven't found anyone at youtube who can play it better. I think anyone will ever do. Good Bless Chopin!
Latsabidze's playing of outstanding mastery as well as subtle poetry, [...] this is magisterial playing, in some ways more commanding than Rubinstein'... !!!
wambui37 I agree there is always a style thing with music- I think Aimi is more than fantastic but a true miracle- When you hear Aimi play it always seems to feel the music is played as it should be- That is a rare talent- In this vid I find it played to slow and lacks depth and dynamics-
I love the way he plays. Slow or fast, emotional? Just look at his audience. I have not found anyone playing that piece better till now. I only hate that cheap village playboy style he is beeing made on his website. This guy is worth more than that.
this is one of the best classical peices ever, but im sorry and most people wont agree with me but this guy plays it too fast and there is'nt even that much emotion the way he plays it
I do agree as well, it is a hard piece to play, and even harder with emotion. Although I know the notes, it sounds different every time, depending on whether one puts their soul, heart, or mind to it. Each of the three sound in their own unique way.
i agree...music is not only about the contact of your body with musical instruments...it;s more than that..your sprit mix with the sounds and you just keep feeding the universe with your emotions:)
Bravo à Giorgi Latsabidze. This is very passionate, lovely. i cannot find words to express joy with such a sensitive performance for that piece. Thanks Giorgi :)
I would like to know something about this piece. I've listened to many players and almost each one of them double the tempo when it comes to the change in ¾. On my score, there is no indication whatsoever regarding an acceleration at this precise moment. According to my sources, the black in a 4/4 is beaten at the same speed as in a ¾. Am I mistaken? Is there a mistake on my score or in the interpretation of the players (I doubt it)? Please, if you have an answer, let me know, thank you.
But sariasphs is right ... In the original version, it's a F# for the left hand. Here, we can hear a D# at 00:39. But, I think its more beautiful with a D# than a F# ...

Re the F#: I wa taught by a Polish Concert Pianist, and he insisted that it was D#, to put more stress into that particular moment. I've had a devil of a job trying to explain this to subsequent teachers....

quien es el estupido que se pone a dar vueltas las hojas y a hablar en medio del nocturno? por el amor de dios no pense que existiera una persona tan estupida
When I studied the piece with my Polish Piano teacher he described it in this way: Chopin wrote this when he was in love with an older woman, and - knowing that it was hopeless - he dreams - of being with her - they kiss - they laugh - they dance to a Mazurka ..the dream has come true..time expands...stretches... but the dream ends... it cannot be..and all is left is the echo of something that could have been.... but the memory... lingers on..
are you joking??? chopin is by far the greatest composer of the romantic period. You have to listen to his great compositions such as Ballade no. 1 in g minor, Scherzo no. 2, Fantasie Impromptu, and almost all his nocturnes are great works.
I heared a lot of versions of this piece but this is the only one who is in my oppinion from the first to the last sheet absolutley amazing played. I would say its nearly perfekt!! Great!
