  • My favorite chopin... just amazing

  • Listening this by the second time, I feel he is not so horrible like I felt the first time. Now, I think he doesnt search an "easy emotion" but the emotion is there. I dislike the last bars and think trills could bee a bit faster, but I must apologize my anterior "horrible".

  • Such melancholy conveyed with such economy. Beautiful.

  • Najpierw ćwoki jebane poznajcie historie Szopena

  • awesome

  • Giorgi certainly deserves a better recording!

  • @satyu131089 I agree with you !!!!

  • I get the feeling he's kind of faking the emotion. You can't just go all wavy and stuff with your hands if you don't feel it. Just my opinion.

Great pianist though, I wish I could play as good as he does.

  • Simply horrible...

  • The piano is fucked up, they need to service it just listen to lower notes

  • Perfect Play.

  • OMG, is it me or is that guy beside the lady dozing off?

  • amazing pianist!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Magnificent talent!!!! Stunning)))))))))))

  • BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he played at my school and i got to meet him. he let me touch his $100,000 piano. It was awesome haha

  • Wow.... where and when did you meet him????? He is incredible isn't he?

  • hey did you meet him in person? did you shake his hand???

  • @Perryann100 yes i did..

  • Hey did you meet Giorgi in California or where??

  • @EnvyzHD Dr. Latsabidze played this Nocturne even more beautiful last year in London... I was attending a concert.... lucky me :;)) hehe

  • wuhuuu good play, and hes from georgia :**

  • Professional play!!!!!!

  • Too technical, no feeling.

  • 很正統

    經典

  • Como las notas viajan hacia el silencio,

tal vez puedan llegar donde tú estas

    a decirte suavemente al oído

que no podré olvidarte nunca más...

    ( j. m. moreno.- "Nocturnos" ).

  • it's OK, but not AMAZING.

  • @akarukutanoshiku ok so whats amazing

  • Not bad at all!

  • Unbelievable talent!

  • One of the best classical pieces ever made... Chopin's Music will live forever...

  • Que interpretacion tan maravillosa...

  • It's like if the piano is crying

  • Boy, if this is "too fast," I'd sure hate to hear what "slower" would be like!!

  • Wow...this guy just won my heart. I can't imagine a more beautiful interpretation of this Nocturne.

  • hm, is this really too fast? some recordings are under 4 minutes... I guess it depends on how it is played

    its a beautiful nocturne...

  • 2 much rubato 4 me

  • it sounds magnificient but it shouldnt be like that.. it should be more emotional.

  • @djenricomastermix Chopin's music is already "emotional" it does not require the performer to "make" it emotional. This guy plays with the soul of a rare breed of musician. He will be remembered for his musical sincerity long after we all go to God.

  • astonishing talent!!!!

  • Absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so sincere and sublime!

  • Beautiful performance! Great Pianist!!

  • It takes a incredible talent to perform like that...I admire what God gave you, Giorgi!

  • well done...beautifull played

  • Played beatifully. very nice interpretation indeed - loved at 1.31

  • I once carved Chopin's head out of a block of gorgonzola cheese.

  • That rumbling sound you hear in the background is Chopin turning in his grave.

  • @NLR884evr

What rumbling sound? It must be your stomach! Eat something!

  • Aside from the fact that he starts all of the trills too loud, I think he plays it pretty well.

  • He plays beautifully.

  • Love Chopin but this is crap.

  • @NLR884evr Well, then why do you keep comming back and posting again and again? lol

  • @1234oldaa ennui

  • @NLR884evr

    You are crap.

  • best performance of nocturne 20 by Claudio Arrau......take a look

  • best performance of nocturne 20 by Claudio Arrau believe me.....take a look

  • I totally agree with you (sic) ItsTheAus, he has to go deeper...however I haven't found anyone at youtube who can play it better. I think anyone will ever do. Good Bless Chopin!

  • @KHAT82 cubusdk plays this piece beautifully. =D

  • Latsabidze's playing of outstanding mastery as well as subtle poetry, [...] this is magisterial playing, in some ways more commanding than Rubinstein'... !!!

  • wambui37 I agree there is always a style thing with music- I think Aimi is more than fantastic but a true miracle- When you hear Aimi play it always seems to feel the music is played as it should be- That is a rare talent- In this vid I find it played to slow and lacks depth and dynamics-

  • ღვთაებრივია!!!

  • Such a talent!!!! WOW

  • the whole piece is not hard, but there are tricky areas when trying to play the 3 to 2. (triplet to eighth.)

  • Stunning.

  • @TheLovelyPiano I agree! Please look his Debussy videos...))) Thanks!

  • I love the way he plays. Slow or fast, emotional? Just look at his audience. I have not found anyone playing that piece better till now. I only hate that cheap village playboy style he is beeing made on his website. This guy is worth more than that.

  • please look on You Tube the Video with

Aimi Kobayashi ! I know it is a taste thing, but for me she plays fantastic.

  • I agree 100%

  • bravo

  • I agree with you

  • I do agree as well, it is a hard piece to play, and even harder with emotion. Although I know the notes, it sounds different every time, depending on whether one puts their soul, heart, or mind to it. Each of the three sound in their own unique way.

  • i agree with you as well!!

  • Comment removed

  • Totally agree with ItsTheAus and Wowtillie:)

  • Why did you delete your comment?XD

  • he's actually not so bad. could be better. somehow i find it too slow!!

  • This guy's ending part is not good enough.. i don't feel good

  • @ItsTheAus I agree, it is a little speedy, but not so much that it should be the salient point in his performance. :\

  • @

This guy has a name: Wladyslaw Szpilman!

  • gioooo magarixar simooon

  • super :) for me ideal exemplar to learn this

  • =')

    beautifull...

    very very beautifull

  • i agree...music is not only about the contact of your body with musical instruments...it;s more than that..your sprit mix with the sounds and you just keep feeding the universe with your emotions:)

  • pretty good , not the best performance but a good one.

  • I am sure chopin was closer to god more than we are, this is the utmost a human can accomplish.

  • chopin was really something

  • bravo! the sound of recording is not very nice, expecially in the high keys

  • Bravo à Giorgi Latsabidze. This is very passionate, lovely. i cannot find words to express joy with such a sensitive performance for that piece. Thanks Giorgi :)

  • man up.

  • cannot understand your reply

  • bravo magaria sxavashoris tempic kargia

  • excellent!

  • ein von echtem romantiker, echt romantisch gespielte grosse romantiker...bravo.

  • Very Poetic and dramatic. It's exactly what Chopin had in mind!

  • how do you know?

  • I've always liked it it's beautiful, Thank you Chopin!!! =D

  • Great performance!

  • C'est une piece magnifique, interprètée de façon sublime. Bravo à Giorgi Latsabidze!

  • well, i wonder the same thing,

Maestr0zbu, but when it comes 36 notes in 2 beats you just can't keep it up with ... but not a excuses.

  • I would like to know something about this piece. I've listened to many players and almost each one of them double the tempo when it comes to the change in ¾. On my score, there is no indication whatsoever regarding an acceleration at this precise moment. According to my sources, the black in a 4/4 is beaten at the same speed as in a ¾. Am I mistaken? Is there a mistake on my score or in the interpretation of the players (I doubt it)? Please, if you have an answer, let me know, thank you.

  • this interpretation is incredible! he brings out the true beauty of this piece.

does anybody know what the noises are between 2:20 and 2:30? thanks for posting this.

  • It would appear to be someone walking back to their seat and I believe you can hear the sound of the Ushers closing the door a few seconds after.

  • it's so amazing how each sound sounds so smooth. I'm working on this piece right now but I can never play it like him in the video.

    It's just amazing

  • Nice Chopin... 5*****. Regards. Pablo

  • a wonderful piece...simply beautiful....

  • He plays very good. The wonderful piece of music! Thanks!

  • wow, nice interpretation, very nice...

    I love it

  • Respect

  • at 00:39 he messed up he played a note that was i believe a minor 2nd too high maby a major 2nd

  • No. He played it correctly. Please, the force of this piece aren´t notes, but emotions. So next time do not comment mistakes which do not exist.

  • But sariasphs is right ... In the original version, it's a F# for the left hand. Here, we can hear a D# at 00:39. But, I think its more beautiful with a D# than a F# ...

But i don't think he messed up cos some performers play this D# in some movies on the net (but I never hear that in a CD ...).

  • =/ wut in the world are yall talkin about?? lol. i mean not tht it really matters cuz apparently he's an awsome pianist, but as a young teen i am playing this song. i'm actually playin it from my recital in less than 2 months. but i listened to it like 4 times and it sounds right. (at least wut i have) and i have the real version. so anyway..oh well. ponder ponder

  • Re the F#: I wa taught by a Polish Concert Pianist, and he insisted that it was D#, to put more stress into that particular moment. I've had a devil of a job trying to explain this to subsequent teachers....

  • yeah I agree with u now ... I will always play this D# now !!! Marvellous this sound with this D#, but why particuarly here and not at 1:08 or at 3:00 on this video ? Cos I prefer the F# for this two other moments ...

  • it has to do with being hopelessly in love....why now...why not later...why this particular moment....its a great mystery..

  • I am from Poland. It is D# in my Polish edition and it is D# in my American edition. Chopin was not very particular about his notation and he disliked writing down his music. He often had his more advanced students write his music as he played. If you ever have a chance to see his manuscripts it's a miracle that they could decipher anything from his handwriting. So really it could be D# or F# depending on what edition you get.

  • The debate rages on.... thanks for the information. Lucky you to have seen the original

  • and do you know where is it possible to see these manuscripts KubidydooMovies ? In poland perhaps ? a museum ?

Thanks for this little msuical debate on youtube !!

  • WOW, a realy very emotional and fascinating interpretation of this very "fragile" and sensible nocturne, Chapeau!!!

  • quien es el estupido que se pone a dar vueltas las hojas y a hablar en medio del nocturno? por el amor de dios no pense que existiera una persona tan estupida

  • Great playing but there's an awful lot of people walking around and fidgeting.

  • I'd love to know what was going through Chopin's mind as he was writing his music, to know his emotions.

  • When I studied the piece with my Polish Piano teacher he described it in this way: Chopin wrote this when he was in love with an older woman, and - knowing that it was hopeless - he dreams - of being with her - they kiss - they laugh - they dance to a Mazurka ..the dream has come true..time expands...stretches... but the dream ends... it cannot be..and all is left is the echo of something that could have been.... but the memory... lingers on..

  • thanks for that

  • that's impressive..it's maybe not the most complicated piece in the world, but maybe (one of) the most sentimental...great arts

  • I doubt that.

  • this is my favorite nocturne. i can play the harmony on violin

  • Very nice. Background folk are even enthralled.

  • I'm happy Chopin's apprentice didn't burn this piece like he was instructed to.

  • this song was sadder in the Pianist omg that song was so like mathcing in the piasnist

  • One of the most beautiful pieces of music composed for a woman

  • I find trills too short. the best performance of this nocturne is cyprien katsaris's.

  • Decent performance - he articulates very nicely, expressively. I like.

  • I can assure you that this is not one of the best compositions of Chopin

  • it is imo =]

  • clearly you havent heard all his songs

  • dont call them "songs" please. and ofc i havent heard all of them, i bet you havent done so as well

  • edit: you clearly haven't heard a good half of his ingenious compositions

  • can you give me examples of chopin's ingenious composition in ur opinion?

  • are you joking??? chopin is by far the greatest composer of the romantic period. You have to listen to his great compositions such as Ballade no. 1 in g minor, Scherzo no. 2, Fantasie Impromptu, and almost all his nocturnes are great works.

  • heard em all ;c (maybe not ALL his nocturnes, but the famous ones)

  • HEY, they are songs! you don't have to be so snotty about it! seriously.

  • I love that piece by Chopin. It's on my favorite playlist. Wonderfully done by Latsabidze!

  • wow wow wow

  • wish i could play like that! so beautiful

  • Great performance

  • a pure masterpiece.. and its in the pianist too ^^

  • I heared a lot of versions of this piece but this is the only one who is in my oppinion from the first to the last sheet absolutley amazing played. I would say its nearly perfekt!! Great!

  • amazed XD

  • Chopin, thank you for my tears!

  • ? what does that mean?

  • It made her cry

  • Very nice !

  • Oh My God. How beautiful. and those lucky people in the orchestra fortunate to be so close to the piano. Their expressions tell it all.

  • some of them look bored if you ask me lol

  • haha i was going to put that!

but still, in my eyes (or ears, if you like), that was one of the most amazing performances of this piece i've ever heard. :)

  • wow i like this interpretation.

  • This guy has a great further! Very original approach to Chopin! NEVER heard before!!!!
