  • was it all for dreams sake?

  • Thank you so much!!!!!

  • He rejected that ho lol

  • Ishtar sounded like a spoiled brat.

  • Owweeeee! Owweeeee!

  • Allahu akbar

  • @3:08 If I were Anu I would have said, "Ishtar, every man buys his wife in a sack".

  • That Ishtar doesn't sound like a very nice person. 10 Points to Gilgamesh for telling her off! And he also gets a complimentary gift basket.

  • What are those people with 2 sets of wings supposed to b? And why are Dread Locks such a populsr hair style for them?

  • AWEEEE AWEEEE!

  • The bull was probally an ancient bull that went extinct during Jesus time....... it was huge 6 foot tall at shoulder, it scared the shit out of ancient people lol

  • @helvis213

wasn't that the right thing to do?

  • it was exciting until the bull started 'spewing dung'

  • What are you reading from? A summary of some sort?

  • @helvis213 Word, Gilg should have took the other 6 rings from his coven or some shit. and been like I'll spare you once you give up some of your power. than he would have been shamed and still cursed the two out.

  • very....their practises are heart wrenching are they not? present your wives to the king who called himself a god and such....

  • @JASONHEINCHMANNNN Uncivilized is Abraham almost sacrificing Isaac. Uncivilized is your god punishing Pharaoh and that canaanite king for not knowing that Sarah was married to her brother Abraham via psychic powers they didnt have.

Gilgamesh = one of the best stories ever written! Gilgamesh would own Abraham

  • Geez what a Beeaach .

  • ooo, he ripped her!! lol

  • aieee aieee

  • How fascinating this epic...As an Assyrian Boy my Grandfather would tell of Gilgamesh. I have a question...Who is this Lord Shamash the story speaks of? In our Assyrian Church of the East a Deacon is referred to as Shamasha, our Minister as Gasha. I apologize if I missed the answer earlier in the story. I am proud of my heritage and wonder what the future will hold for those of us who are of Assyrian ancestry. Thank You for taking the time to bring this story to a wider audience.

  • Glad you enjoyed.

Shamash is known is the sun god, god of justice and patron of travelers and dream interpreters. The Sumerians called him Utu.

In the epic, Ninsun, Gilgamesh's mother asks Shamash to protect her son during his ceder forest adventure.

  • Killing the Bull was the right thing to do. Killing Humbaba was vanity, but the Bull was destroying the city and killing the people. A king has a responsibility to those he rules.

    Gods are such jerks.

  • Nice job. Insult people for no reason when you apparently cant spell.

  • Thanks so much for posting this series! I am amazed at the Gilgamesh story and its meaning, as well as the way it has inspired other myths. The power of story telling is art in itself.

  • thanks man,

  • Hope you enjoyed.

  • Fuck Ishtar! That stupid bitch.

  • Do you celebrate Easter?

Ever wondered where the name comes from?

  • my favorite part, Gilgamesh rejecting Ishtar, man was she pissed.

  • its the classic aprhodite archetype...aphrodite always did the same thing as Ishtar.

  • @gilgamesh1962

no... none wans to be guilty. ego was her excessive baggage, he could have her any time
