I am expecting this CD in my mail today, sampling this track lead me to buying the album over the weekend, take THAT, SOPA!!!! Streaming sites like YT and Spotify actually open doors for more artists for more exposure and lead to higher album/download sales by allowing us to sample a track/album before we commit to buying it. Thanks for uploadng it.
When Hardcastle started Trippin'N'Rhythm Records, he took all his masters with him; thus, whenever you see, oh say, Hardcastle II, that was originally on JVC, it'll say T'n'R Records instead. And T'n'R isn't under Warner or Universal's umbrellas, so yeah, you're good.
What I would do is either check the label on the CD case (or at whatever MP3 site you usually go to) for the label that released it, then go to Wikipedia's entry for the UMG or WMG to see if it falls under either one. BTW, I just checked for myself on Shakatak. Steer clear of anything before 1988- all their releases were on Polydor, a subsidiary of the UMG.
good because I was just about to upload a song from the da makani album but unfortunately I have to remove "runaway bay" from my channel because it's from verve records which is now owned by UMG
Thanks to TLDavis for sending this. To the person who posted this- it will remain on here. Hardcastle doesn't record under Warner or Universal, so you're in the clear.
so as long as the artist you're posting doesn't record under a current record company I can put the song on youtube? for instance lets say paul hardcastle records on warner bros. and I take a song from an album of his that was from JVC records will it be alright to post it on youtube?

but what about for other artists? if they leave a label will it be ok to post from the album they left from?
GDelva2003 2 years ago
Depends on which artists and labels.
SweetDaddyBugg 2 years ago
Like say shakatak. they released an album called niteflite. I uploaded songs on youtube from that album. how do I check?
