If anyone thinks Blair was the worst Prime Minister this country has ever had they are seriously deluded and know nothing about politics. He was by far one of, if not the best we've had.
i dont think that he should retire on a massive pension when soldiers with no legs are recieving minimum wage for the rest of whatever lifes they have left. i dont think he was a particularly bad politician but he lied and people have died because of that.
I wasn't defending Saddam we (the Western powers) sold him weapons but that does not excuse him from using them, this isn't about good and evil, they are both in the wrong. One for selling weapons and one for using weapons.
As for Blair, what part of the Geneva convention regarding wars of attrition do you not understand?
Yes it doesn't really matter that the world sees us as the 51st state and let's forget about him being a war criminal, because he created more millionaires than Thatcher did, so to anyone who isn't a socialist he's probably a lovely guy.
just cos blair stood up for what was right and this happened to coincide with americas policy does not make britain the 51st state. the close alliance we share with america extends our global influence. who cares if it makes for example the french hate us. everyone hates tham anyway :)
and tony blair is NOT a war criminal. so people died in iraq. they die all the time. if they die in war (doing their job) its sad. if they are innocent civilians going about their lives and are murdered like 9/11 its unforgiveable.
You say he's not a war criminal because you are ignorant. He lied to the public in order to wage an aggresive and needless war. After Cheyney, Rumsfeld, Bush and the rest of the neo con cabal have been thrown in Abu Ghraib, Blair should follow.
sorry but it has to be said that you are the ignorant one. all your points so far have been frankly crap. and how the hell would you know what they call britain in the pentagon??
why do you blame america for standing up for itself?
I must be ignorant because I can't think of a single incident where Iraq was a threat to either the u.s. or the u.k. The war is one of aggression by America and Britain. Waging a war of aggression is a war crime, regime change is no excuse. If there was any justice in this world Blair wold be decorating a lamp-post in Baghdad.
firstly there are the links between iraq and the taliban, and then there is the fact that saddam's regime was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of iraqis. then there is the fact that blair had been given intelligence that saddam had WMDs. this may have been later proved wrong, but that is not blairs fault, and at any rate, saddam just got what was comning to him
You must be some kind of Blairbot if you believe that. Yes Saddam was a murderer but we put him there and sold him the chemical weapons and out of the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis who died,
most of them were children who starved to death because of the U.S. led sanctions.
As for the WMDs, it's typical party spin to blame the intelligence services. They told Blair that Iraq was no threat, the weapons inspectors and David Kelly told Blair there was no threat, the British people told him there was no threat, but Bush told him Saddam was a freedom hating terrorist, who did he believe?
im sorry, but i can barely believe what i am reading - you seem to place saddam as a better person than blair. that is a seriously screwed up way of viewing the world
You can always tell when someone loses an argument, they always try to polarise the point. Do you honestly think that because I hate Tony Blair that I must love Saddam Hussein? This isn't about which criminal is better, it is about justice.
no the reason i said that is because you were defending saddam "yes he was a murderer, but we put him there and sold him the chemical weapons" as if it is our fault. if someone buys a gun and kills someone who is to blame? the killer or the gun salesman?
also, blair didnt sell saddam any chemical weapons - that was before his time so you are detracting from the topic of this argument which is that blair is/isnt a war criminal
Unfortunately there were no links between saddam and the Taliban because one was sunni and the other shia. WMD yep that was false int. and yes he had it coming but so does mugabe but we dont seem to care about his human rights record. face facts he made a bad call and should answer for it in the haig.
Yep he definately was. If it was not for the Iraq war, the other British public would not be asking him to leave and he would have not said he would not go-ahead into an fourth term. I could garanntee he would have won an 4th term in office. But life chaged the style so, we need to follow it. I cannot believe Gordon Brown is the PM. I wanted John Prescott or John Reid to run in the race and beat his sorry ass lol

Tony Blair stood up for what is right, when?
Those twats in the Pentagon (now known as the Quad) commonly refer to Britain as Airstrip 1.
As for the French they have a greater understanding of world politics than any American I've met.
