I saw Hurt Locker and Precious on the weekend....how Hurt won the Oscar I can only wonder. Hurt didn't do anything for me as a viewer...however, Precious had me raise my eyebrows, giggle, laugh out loud, tear up and outright cry (my guy too had tears in his eyes, as ONLY a single father could understand Clarice's misfortunes)...this was an emotional rollercoaster ride, this is the ONE that should've WON!!!

@rainslave I had the complete opposite experience. I thought Precious as a film was very overrated. Of course the subject matter (abuse in all its forms) is heavy and distrubing and deserving of depiction, but as a movie it felt pop-ish and corny. sorry. Hurt Locker I just watched a few days ago, and was blown away and I'm a female. the acting incredible, the storyline, powerful and the film was so realistic. deserving of its oscar and all the attention.

Hurt Locker...Awesome movie. Great performances by all, but especially J Renner! I seen much of his work by happy accident and am delighted that there is fresh, new, REAL, talent in the industry!
Best line ever! "If I am gonna die, I'm gonna die comfortable"
Also great line for the moment it was in (about to get your butt blown off) "I'm wonderful, how are you" :)
If you don't get the last one, you have to watch the movie!

I think I first saw him when he played J. Dalmer, and I haven't been able to get that role out my mind. He played it too well.
