johnowls you have no idea what you're talking about. if you just mark up, the attackers will play the ball behind you and 9 times out of 10 the attacker will get to the ball before you. Also, if you mark up and don't cover your first defender, what happens if he/she gets dribbled? The attacker is through on goal...good job! You just left your keeper in a 1v1 situation while you where "marking up" the supporting player. Good tips coach nice vid!
@johnowls what they're doing is pressuring the PASS. if u mark the person and get close, the person with the ball can pass it behind u and the person u where marking can beat u easily to the ball. if u do what they're doing in the video; they pass, u can easily get in the way of the ball and take it. simple.
@TheHibeeboy The Coach was painting the picture without winning the ball. At 1:09 the yellow team was not allowed to win the ball, later they were. It was a good session. Thanks alot Coach.
They know how to organise sport. Their coaches are well trained and as good as any we have at youth level. They also have better funding for youth teams. They are sowing the seeds of a very skillful and tactically aware new generation of players.
you are going to have to watch out if the ball is passed and the one receiving the ball gets a good first touch then both defenders are beat. the one is going to have been dribbled around and the other will still being getting back so the offensemen has a break away and most likely a goal.
well if u did u would know youtube does have alot about street and indoor just search for "futsal" for indoor soccer or search "groundmoves" ,"panna" ,"soccershowdown","montastreetsoccer","motg" for street soccer
the point of a second defender is to be far enough back to prevent a through ball to split their defense and close enough up so they can step up if a ball is passed to the second offender. Man to man is more running and in higher levels would require more substitutions and with select teams, cost you many goals and even more missed opportunities off a counter attack. obviously this builds to the full scale zonal, which organizes the entire team. but man to man still works if you're faster...
this doesn't seem very efficient to me. wouldn't it be better to have 1 defender guarding each offender rather than having 1 defender against 2 offense?
If one defender is passed the one left has to play against 2 striker. The defenders should cover the ways the striker may run/pass and not the striker itself.
Im just an ordinary defender.Keep up the good work but your going to need some little adjustments. You'll know it if you are confident dont panic stay focused dont bend your back they can easily fly the ball on you and the most important do not be disturb by others.
yeah I agree...but you have to watch when you play on the sides, if his ground options are cut he can go for a cross or shot to center and thats the thing you're probably trying to stop most, so you gotta be very good with timing and footwork

@johnowls - If the defenders don't back off, they'll give up the give and go all day long.
Blaylock1007 11 months ago
@johnowls They do that so that if one defender gets out dribbled, the supporting on can swoop in and make a tackle

Wow, plenty of haters commenting. These girls have good technique, something you rarely see in defenders.

look at 2:30 that`s good defending, but you need good anticipation and positioning to do it.

this tactic is very tiring for defenders, insted u should cut the players passing options and force it to drible...

and then tackle him ... that's what I do when I play as a defender
